    BMW admits 550GT was too ambitious

    "The V-8 was probably not the right car to launch it with," said Rich Brekus, BMW's general manager of sales for North America, at a press event here.

    They're going to launch the 6 cylinder 535GT version this fall, and an AWD model next month.

    People really are more gas mileage conscious...send over the damn diesels

    I agree with you, send over the diesels.

    I don't understand why it did not have the 6 from the beginning. Seems they were trying to create some kind of upscale SUV replacement type deal. The GT just does not make sense to me, if they are already admitting a blunder early on I don't see it getting better.

    I can't believe people take fuel economy so damn seriously though now, is it really that big of a damn deal?
