Eager to see the results for those turbos, have been wondering when their release was going to be.

Right now my expectation is a gain of 0 whp. That way I'm not disappointed.

The turbo install is time-consuming, but not difficult once you have a little guidance. Subframe had to completely come out. I may be seeing you for an alignment in the next few days if any bolts went out of whack. I hope not though, we took real care around the suspension parts.

the labyrinth of rubber hoses they use. they appear to be prone to leakage long-term.

You would think so, but LM had over 90k miles on the OEM hoses. Never leaked, although his waterpump cover cracked and was leaking coolant. The hoses were just fine Click here to enlarge

My god, if it outputs even HALF of what the RB turbos do, I'll be a happy camper. So will my 6AT every time I launch my car from a dig!

Thats what im talking about. If thats the case, I will look at these when and if they are released. I am not wanting to replace my transmission. If only I would have bought a manual.

The results will be undisputable though. If they don't make power, the results will show. If they do make power, the results will show. You guys already saw my before dyno, and I have pictures of my car on the dyno, Cobb datalogs, pictures of the install, and the after dyno results / datalogs. I will even dyno all the maps I did in the same order, with the same cooldown, with the same fan, even with the same damn dyno operator if someone wants to argue that point. I've been around e90post long enough to know what people want to argue and will make sure it's done properly.

The sad part is some of those guys will write off the turbos if they make less than 450 whp on this dyno since they think the stock turbos are capable of that power output based on ONE glory run with no baseline. The problem is this Dynojet reads low by about 20 whp based on the fact ALL of the pulls I did are consistently 20 whp lower than "expected" power levels. Hell, I think I will go to TSADyno which has a "generous" Dynojet where I pulled 424whp out of my 135i on a 295whp baseline just to get a sheet that shows higher numbers, since peak numbers is what sells product, right?

    Sorry /rant.

You make some valid points. Hopefully these are reasonably priced, hold power to redline, and give a good 30whp through out.

There is no data on these yet. Like I said before, I'll have data Wednesday, latest Friday. I'm not trying to tease, just have to stay quiet. What's the point in hyping up a product with no track record? If they don't make power, everyone will just be disappointed.

I'm not even interested too much in peak power actually, what I want is a modest peak gain with the ability to sustain more power to redline as you said. Even with the low-ish peak gains, it will result in a noticeable real-world performance increase. I wish I had your optimism though Click here to enlarge I like to be a pessimist until proven otherwise!
