    his baby will allow you to look at the various engine components that came in almost all BMW models including key specifications for pistons such as:

    Compression Height
    Valve Recession Depth (Intake)
    Valve Recession Depth (Exhaust)
    Total Height (Length)
    Wrist Pin Diameter
    Piston Ring Diameters
    Cylinder Bore Diameter

    Also available are key specifications of intake and exhaust valves such as:

    Valve head diameter
    Valve stem diameter
    Valve total height/length
    Seat angle
    Valve end schematic
    Valve guide dimensions

    Simply search by manufacturer, number of cylinders and CC.

    You can search other makes and models here too but it just happens so that Mahle supplied many of the pistons for BMW engines from the 80s to early 2000s.

    I thought mahle made the stock pistons on N54? and did we ever find out if they truely are forged or not, on any model year?

    I figured the stock pistons would be from Mahle but I have no idea if they are forged for the N54. The S65's are though...

    no slight here... but is that compensation for the aluminum block?
    and in which case are the interals swapped for the gintani build merely for lower compression or to incorporate better forged rods?
