lol, just drop it...you are trolling...there's no way your friend lost spool with this intercooler...funny your first posts on this board are right in this thread saying this ic is bad and you're recommending ets hmmmmmm fishy fishy

"testing" involves choosing datalogs with a previous intercooler and trying to run the same runs as before...so no, testing hasn't even begun yet but i've done about 1000km with this intercooler and it behaves as described just above

That looks sick! I'll be interested to see how it compares to the helix since I have the helix currently. I just got my new front bumper in the mail today, it's the OEM mtech, I'm hoping I can see the helix a little better once that's installed.

I'll actually run my tests with big tom fmic to match the runs posted by ETS here:

    http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11050679

Just need to wait for 50F ambients, upcoming weekend is in the 20s

Love data such as this as its great to have something to compare against...if anyone is interested in comparing their fmic and knows where to get similar data, or you're willing to contribute no meth runs of your own setup, in ambient temps 50 and below, post it up over here and I'll try to instrument the runs the same way...

I can already say, given what's shown by ETS for 3rd gear pulls before/after IATs that the big Tom will at the least match it from what I've seen in some logs and my IAT gauge...I was running more than 12psi boost also (14-18psi) so more incoming heat too...also, temp recovery/drop after a long pull is also just as fast if not faster...

take all this with a grain of salt though for now and we can discuss when data is posted

I made a small note in the other forum that the IC is under test in a very fast vehicle since this may not be obvious for the reader.

As far as I recall the competition immediately understood this cheap and well engineered IC was a major threat to current business by thrashing it in every imaginable way. The solution would have been to produce an IC in the same division for a competitive price or something that is proven better. I don't think this has happened yet.

Active Autowerke has actually just released their sport version of the intercooler, much smaller than their original KL Racing lookalike at $599 group by i think...their original "race" version sells at $1349 at some places but it has some additional custom ducting on it to "enhance" flow through the core...

Good they try to compete. One thing the competitors should focus more on is a light weight hi flow version and take this one step further.

Interesting, great price. Is it worth getting or should one pony up for the race version?

Not sure how to best answer that...i'll say that any aftermarket fmic is a lot better than stock..the rest is your cutting plastic off the car comfort level and how much you value your dollar basically
