    e9x 1/4 Mile World Record: 10.690@129.38 VAC Motorsports E92 M3 | VF Engineering VF620

    - MMS received at 12:39 PM EST, 12.10.2011.

“like that?” - text received at 12:39 PM EST, 12.10 .2011.

    Honestly, I didn’t even look.

My girlfriend and I were enjoying bagels from Leo’s while sitting on Hanover Square in Manhattan when these texts came through. A few thousand people dressed as santa claus, santa’s helpers and elves (some sexy, most not) were keeping us entertained, so I chose to ignore the text and carry on with my fabulous cinnamon raisin bagel. Santacon, for those wondering.

After missing two calls along with the texts, I finally look to my phone knowing that I must have missed something major. Yep, I did.

    10.690@129.38

My hired gun was at Atco Raceway, looking to beat his standing ¼ mile world record for all boost E9x M3s that he ran a few weeks ago at Cecil County Dragway. Mission accomplished.

    No nitrous
    No meth
    Stock engine
    93 octane fuel
    DOT approved street legal tires
    Atco Raceway, Atco NJ

    2008 M3
    DCT
    VF Engineering VF620 Supercharger Kit
    VAC by Fabspeed catless exhaust
    APEX 18x10 ARC-8 rear wheels
Mickey Thompson ET Streets (DOT Approved - street legal!)
    ar Design Line Lock
    No other mods.

This VF-Engineering VF620 kit is the real deal. This is a stock kit...nothing more. In addition to some serious whooping at the drag strip, we hammered it for many many sessions on Lightning and Thunderbolt at NJMP. ZERO PROBLEMS. Please PM me when you are ready to buy.

PS. Our hired gun is not a race car driver - it's Klevis Prifti, our Performance Center Manager. Not bad for his 2nd time at the drag strip Click here to enlarge Next season is going to be crazy!

PPS. Records are made to be broken. Lets go boys and girls ;-)

Line lock was used only to heat the tires. The BMW launch control worked like a champ Click here to enlarge (when it decided to activate - grrr)

Oh sorry, I was replying in general. A few weeks ago I received a PM asking if we were launching with the LL at Cecil County Dragway.

No need with the auto tranny (dct)...on a manual like mine I'll be trying to figure that one out once the season opens up again

VAC Motosports breaks the overall E92/E9X M3 1/4 mile record with their VF-Engineering supercharged car - 10.6@129.3

Here it is ladies and gentlemen, 10 seconds boost only. And not just barely breaking into the 10's but getting close to mid 10's. What changed since the last time out for this car which set the boost only record? Launch control used with Mickey Thompson ET Streets. The 60 foot record was obliterated with the first 1.6x at 1.63. A major improvement over the previous 1.776. For those wondering if launch control is the way to go at the strip, this should be definitive proof.

This beats the previous record which was set with nitrous. Amazing to see a boost only car do this and what we expected all along out of the M3's, 10 seconds with superchargers. The bar has no been set. Congratulations to VAC Motorsports and VF-Engineering.

    Kind of funny eh?

All the kits really are capable of this. All it took was launch control on drag radials. It should have been me, I never even got a clean chance at it Click here to enlarge

I think with your set up, you should easily be lower that mid 10's for sure with those tires.

Maybe kind of, but regardless I don't intend to play with low boost or with 10's.

Nice VAC..I knew it was just a matter of time before someone figured out how to get the "right" 60ft using DCT. The near 130 trap is pretty impressive. Can't wait to see results from low compression built motors, built DCT's trans' and NX Click here to enlarge

Just a matter of getting launch control to work. I always said it was the way to go...
