    Pocket Dyno Results

So I decided to see just how accurate this pocket dyno thing is. I ran it on my stage 2 aggressive map and had the same identical set up as from my track day where I went.

Here is the slip from atco with a much better 60 foot time

    and here is iphone timeslip

As you can see the final mph is pretty spot on, however the 1/8th seems to reading a little low.
Keep in mind the real time slip vs the iphone slip are not the same run/day, however the same set up.

That's awesome. I like the way the pocket Dyno slip looks crumpled up and makes it look realistic. Pretty neat

Cool. As long as this pos vbox gets here tomorrow I'll do some extensive testing on shift points and 60-130. Not expecting much on the 60-130 because I have two shifts unlike others who have one.

The only accurate device for measuring performance is the VBOX. Well worth the $500 IMHO. Click here to enlarge

yea but this was free, I did 4 runs last night and all were 13.0-13.1 with a 117-118 trap speed.

Many magazines and companies have done a review on this thing and it seems pretty spot on timeslip wise

Yeah but they are paid for those reviews...

For free sounds like a fun app though. Just don't put too much faith in the results being consistent. E.g. $50 says someone posts a 128mph timeslip with it before long.

Oh im not putting faith in it, however I will run it the next time i see a track. 4 runs, all withing .1 and 1mph of each other. If you are not an idiot and follow simply directions, there is very minimal room for error with this thing. Enter the correct weight, and make sure you calibrate the progrom correctly, in my case I used my kitchen counter top lol

I tried two things with the same results.
    1. I have a universal cell phone holder that i use for the ap, so I stuck my iphon in there.
    2. The ashtray area, along with a cig lighter, jams my iphone perfectly into that spot.

Well mine only register 360whp, so the dyno part of it isnt accurate, the timeslip part is imo.

Other people eat shit and die.

There is. The gtech fanatic SS uses gps technology as well, costs $200 but in terms of features, does not accurately graph altitude or automatically start logging like the vbox unit can, nor do a 60-130 specifically. You get what you pay for it seems.

    Then it isn't real competition.
