Most people have no idea how tough it is to the get the torch into those tight spaces. Will you be finish welding the tubing onto the flange from the top or from inside?

That's one heck of a tricky puzzle to put together!

Can we get that guy to come make an exhaust manifold with a Twin-Scroll T4 flange for my 1M?!

Awesome work! Can't wait to see what that GTX does with this motor!

Thanks! Each manifold I've done gets more complex, and each I have to really think about how I can tear it down enough to access all the seams yet not change placement of the pieces. Getting it tacked together like the pictures on the previous page is the easy part, getting it fully welded and then fitted back together just the same is a whole different story! If there's anything I can ever do for you let me know!

"That guy" is me, HI! My name's Shawn, I mentioned it a few times Click here to enlarge I'm not scared of the N54/55 or a 1M, send me the car as Andrew mentioned, I can return it with some badass hardware. Getting fueling and tuning as good as my hardware will be the problem Click here to enlarge

Anyone know what they are going to use to control the secondary injection timing and duration?

Phenomenal work! I would love to be the owner of this car!!!

So you welded the primaries from both sides.....very slick. And I love that you left the brace on the turbine flange plate....reducing load on the primaries.

The welds on the muffler look bad compared to yours. LOL

Any reason why you went with SS braided line instead of the new Nylon or Aramid stuff?

From a turbo spool perspective, I think this car is going to be a benchmark piece for the power expected.

Real power...the kind you can use on the street!

If he wants to disclose a target boost pressure, I can work backwards from there with an engine model and give an estimate.

Power goal is in the low 600's.. but capable likely of a little more but probably not a good idea on stock internals.

Just over 600whp on E85. While no one wants to blow up a motor, Trevor isn't scared of a built motor so it's only a matter of time until it gets pushed a little harder Click here to enlarge

Very curious to see the powerband, only thing I'm not 100% sure of is what gain or loss the 1.06 a/r exhaust housing is going to add. It should give the 35R an upward reach on higher power levels but not exactly sure what affects it will have on spool, I've never had any personal experience with such a big hotside. Regardless I am doing everything in my power and knowledge to make this thing spool quick yet have the upper end it deserves for the high reving S54!

I'm Trevors roomate and drove the car from California to Phoenix w/him and from Phoenix (ProEFI) down to Lutz in Florida. The reason I'm confident it will make low 600's is due to the fact Ray's E46 M3 just recently converted to ProEFI w/E85 and using a T67 makes about 640rwhp.. this is a pretty comperable setup and should make similar power, how that curve will look, I have no idea but with all the divided housing, bad ass manifold work and what not I'm hoping its more impressive then the most GT35/T67 curves on gas.

Woah!!! The DP is straight off of the turbo?!!! That's bad ass, and will help with spool.

Divided housings, when comparing to an undivided housing of similar volume, will yield an approximate 5% increase in torque and a loss of about 5% in peak power. The reason is the increased surface area in the housing which causes added flow resistance as mass flow increases.

So how do you find housings of similar volume? As a rule of thumb, you can multiply a divided housing's A/R by 0.78 and arrive at a comparable undivided housing size. So 1.06 X 0.78 = 0.82. Now this is just a rule of thumb, because everyone seems to have a different way of casting a twin scroll manifold....and some single scroll manifolds have the nozzle area cut out to fit a larger turbine wheel into the house. (FP is notorious for this) The real difference is that the nozzle area in a divided housing is approximately 80% of that of an identically sized (Numerically) undivided housing.

BTW, I've seen guys use ratios anywhere from 0.6 to 0.8 when comparing divided to undivided housing sizes. It's not that simple....

The short of it: The 1.06 A/R divided housing should work like an 0.82 A/R housing except with about 5% more torque down low; that's if you were using the exact same manifold on each turbo. I think the tubular manifold pictured above is going to net further gains in performance in every area of the power curve. Should be interesting.

I would bet we'll see full boost under 4,000 RPM?
