Thumbs up HPF Stage 5 turbo E46 M3 AEM and ProEFI comparison, ProEFI down on power

I want to thank Jason for coming out. We appreciate all of his help and got 3 of the 4 cars dialed (the Z4M we're waiting on a few things). Here are the dyno graphs.
Rays' M3 was running straight pump gas. We now have E85 in it and will be dynoing it shortly. The blue and red curves are from two prior visits. The green curve is with the ProEFI. The car drives and runs smoothly but on pump gas is down on power. I'll let Jason talk about pump gas dyno graph when he gets back. I'll be test driving it for a couple days on pump and E85 and we will get some E85 graphs up soon.

We raised the rev limit with the ProEFI as you can see with the red and blue graphs but we believe the turbo manifold is now the restriction in power. We've dynoed this car with both the AEM and the ProEFI and it just doesn't want to make any more power. We went with the Steed Speed manifold because it was in two pieces and was the only way to get the large 8285mm turbo into the tight location. I may have John drop the motor and install the turbo with our turbo manifold and we may also put in a back pressure sensor so we can log the pressure in the turbo manifold. We may not be able to fully benefit from that large turbo unless with go with a tubular manifold.

Why is it so significantly down on power?

We are synching the dyno boost sensor with the ProEFI so we can plot the boost on the dyno graph. We are also dynoing now with E85. So we will have more results shortly.

    Vick,

back in 2007 you were working on S54 and it seemed beatutiful. I was impressred by then.

from 2007 till 2011 you have been able to put any serious times, your times remind of a supercharged S54.

something(s) dont line up and you should re-design from scratch and improve weak areas. you spend a lot of time, energy and you should improve the hot points and keep the M3. Optically it looks awesome, all you need to do is work on weak areas. It is doable. Cmon, you can do it, how many S54s are putting fast times?
