    Horror movie fan thread

I'll be getting baked and watching plenty of horror movies, so I made this a place to discuss some of the more ..umm obscure or oddball films out there. Thre are just so many that it seems endless and unfortunately, most of them suck. But in many cases, there's much to be appreciated in even the $#@!tiest of horror films. Click here to enlarge

Up next: War of the Colossal Beast (1958) sequel to "The Amazing Colossal Man". This should be good Click here to enlarge

MST3K did this film also. I love that show.

All of the Rob Zombie movies are amazingly well done; House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects and his remakes of Halloween and it's sequel are some of my favorites ever.

LOL!!!!! Glad I'm not the only person here with a $#@!ed up sense of humor...

    Here is the exact quote:

Captain J.T. Spaulding: I'm gonna have to be taking your car today. See I have some top secret clown business that supersedes any plans that you might have for this here vehicle.
    [mutual laughter]
Susan: What's that about clown business?
    [laughs nervously]
Captain J.T. Spaulding: [pause] Do I stutter, $#@!?

Hah. I'm glad you guys enjoyed those movies so much. I certainly did. Those movies rock on shrooms too lol. Especially ( I keep mixing them up ) the one where they chased a girl in a rabbit costume. The cinematography is wildly trippy in that film.

Call me whatever you want but if a horror movie is intense enough I just can't sleep aftwerwards. I prefer comedies but enjoy your thread. Just popping in as I always do.

I wish they would still affect me the same as when I was a child but I've always loved dark, evil, scary stuff. I even get kicks out of nightmares.
Strange thing with me is that I've grown up watching these throughout my childhood so they're comforting to me.

Demon movies are the scariest for me. I think all it takes is going to church with the family enough times as a kid and demons will scare the crap out of you.

Mid 80's, when I was really little, I'd visit my uncle in Brooklyn and we'd go to the video store down the block. The whole basement was a dungeon that had a few displays with mannequins. They were all acting out gruesome horror scenes. There was one in an electric chair being fried, Jason hacking up a girl, and some other random acts of torture going on down there. That was the horror section of the local video store! My children will never have that experience. The video store days are over.
The generations before have even better memories. Those same monsters we see dancing around Universal Studios were absolutely terrifying 50+ years ago.
The oldies are the best Click here to enlarge now we have CGI anacondas and crap on the ScyFy channel. It's a shame.

I'll be watching the oldies on TCM probably 24/7 since they have a marathon and only play classics.

Oh edit; it's nit an all day marathon. I have some stuff recorded though. I'll watch Motel Hell first. Awesome movie

They aren't good films but I enjoyed the first one. I have the first 5 saved in my comp, but haven't seen them again. I'll give them another chance.

I like more classic stuff, of course. Especially the really old, corny B&Ws and 80's/early 90's stuff. Watching alone isn't as fun because they need to be made fun of

By far the most disturbing thing I have ever seen. e92 I saw some of your other posts and I look at the same messed up $#@!. Have since I was like 12 stileproject etc. This movie is on a whole other level. Watch with lights off and music up.

"The true history of Japanese Unit 731, from its beginnings in the 1930s to its demise in 1945, and the subsequent trials in Khabarovsk, USSR, of many of the Japanese doctors from Unit 731. The facts are told, and previously unknown evidence is revealed by an eyewitness to these events, former doctor and military translator, Anatoly Protasov. Part documentary and part feature, the story is shown from the perspective of a young Japanese nurse who witnessed many of horrors, and a young Japanese officer who is torn between his sincere convictions that he is serving the greater purpose, and the deep sympathy he feels for an imprisoned Russian girl. His life is a living hell as he's compelled to carry out atrocious experiments on the other prisoners, using them as guinea pigs in this shocking tale of mankind's barbarity. "Philosophy of a Knife" is truly one of the most violent, brutal and harrowing movies ever made"

The scene with the teeth was the worse for me...and the kid outside in the cold. I literally had to look away at the teeth scene and that has never happened before. The audio was perfect.

Please watch and let me know what you think. Some parts are slow but try not to fast forward much as you can miss a ton of $#@!ed up crazy disgusting $#@!.

The director is Russian, it is just about the Japanese the the horrible atrocities that were committed on innocents and prisoners of war:

"Russian Horror Director Andrey Iskanov Detained for 5 Days by FSB (formally known as the KGB)

On June 10th in Khabarovsk, Andrey Iskanov, director of the soon to be released film Philosophy of a Knife, was visited by the Russian Federal Security Service. According to Mr. Iskanov, he was questioned about the research he had conducted into the historical chemical and biological experiments that form the basis for the film, and the whereabouts of the documents and materials he had uncovered on the subject. Iskanov explained that many of the materials had been sent to the USA with the exception of those being utilized in his new film The Tourist. At the request of the security services, he surrendered what materials he had and the FSB left.

On the following day, the FSB returned to Mr. Iskanov's residence and proceeded to conduct a search of his property. They confiscated all film, video and computer materials, and Iskanov was arrested and taken to the local military base for questioning. While in detention, he was interrogated about the information he had acquired from Anatoly Protosov, a former military translator for the USSR, and his research into the Russian chemical and biological experiments that had been conducted in the area, as well as the American experiments that had taken place based on information culled from Unit 731 after the trials in Khabarrovsk. Iskanov explained that his research had led him only up to 1956 and no further, especially in regards to the Russian experiments.

He was detained for 5 days in the military base in a concrete cell without a bathroom and with very little to eat. After the FSB had examined all of his media and other materials, they had Iskanov sign a consent form for the search and seizure of his materials. He was given back some of his property after being released.

It is not unusual for independent filmmakers to be subjected to a certain amount of harassment, but this certainly seems to be an extreme case. Philosophy of a Knife is more than just a glance at a moment in history that most would rather forget; it is a graphic and detailed account of atrocities committed by government scientists and doctors on innocent civilians. It is because of the work of artists like Andrey Iskanov that such acts are not forgotten, however awful the truth may be."

At one point they show the same experiments the Nazis were doing in regards to cold weather and the human body. $#@! is wacked.

What would you say the most disturbing movie you have ever seen is? Philosophy of a Knife is mine by far.
