Ahhh I see, well I have yet to eat a Hardee's burger but cant say I haven't heard of them before. Carl's is good unless you go at 3am to a 24 hr one and they treat you like $#@!. I wont go back there, I don't care how close it is or how high I am.

On another note If I were looking for some late night eats I would go to Harbor House Cafe in Dana Point Harbor. Its been open 24/7 since 1939. Great burgers.

Try Mike's Burger in the Lower East Side of Manhattan (Ludlow street.) You won't be disappointed.

Now that sounds righteous.. open that long gotta be good. Prolly like Mel's in SF. Used to get Butterscotch shakes there, ohhhhhhh...

Anyways, I was going to mention that "The Counter" makes really great burgers as well.... 100% custom as you can choose from all kinds of exotic toppings, cheese, bread, etc....

Where is it? Sounds awesome.. choice of bread is cool, prolly good bread.

    the counter is whatever.

went to Hole In The Wall again today, but at the new location in WeHO.

Med Rare, on the PRETZEL bun a must have, with fried egg, bacon, onion mayo, onion and lettuce. Best burger stand in LA!

Yeah they're pretty good. The closest one to me is in LA, so whenever I'm heading that way, I try to plan it so I stop there. Here is a list of all their locations:

The best burgers are made at home. It's easy also. I will fry or broil some of the the best burgers ever for myself. Once you have it down, a good oven and or grill and cookware is all you need to make that perfect burger at home. Unfortunately, the place I'm in now has an electric oven FTL, but I still rock out with it! Lol

I agree with this, best burgers I have ever had were usually ones I made myself.

Technique and gear obviously count given my experience trying to duplicate the taste of my fave restaurant's burgers at home by taking home some of their meat. I was amazed at how different it was.

Wow that big burger looks excellent!

Yo @DD GT3 RD I'm going to be spending a weekend in LA in a couple weeks and want to hit up the best burger places.

Should I start with Father's Office? Or what do you think?

Yes. Just know you can't alter the burger but its the highest quality burger there is. U can't add or take off items. I hate blue cheese and they use a mild amount but let me tell u it all comes together perfectly. Just do it. It's a fantastic bar too. Go to the one on helms in culver city. There another in Santa Monica too.

Whatever one is closest to downtown LA looks like the Helms one. I'll check it out for lunch.

Any other recommendations? I'm there for three days.

Umami is good but its a small burger and that pisses me off. Burger is a mans food. But they make good burgers.

Check out Short Order at the grove by Nancy Silverton. There is also an Umami there.
