It really is that good. Ive been all over the USA and I have never had better. A close second was in Chicago.

I have had Cali pizza but I am sure I haven't had the best it has to offer. The water and the elevation make all the difference though.

I lived in Texas for a bit, I say our Mexican is better than even Texas for straight authenticity. They mix their stuff up with that Tex-Mex jibberish.

All depends on where. Close to Mexicali is quite good. I have had some amazing Mexican good in Texas though.

I do love some mexican food though. Doesn't matter where. Good place in NY is Coyote Loco. Aguacate rellenos are slammin!!

There are more good pizza places in New York.

But LA can offer pizza that is as good. Check out Vito's Pizza on La Cienega Blvd in West Hollywood. Make the best calzone I have ever had as well. Their dough is simply The Best. I know quite a few New Yorkers that eat here and claim it as the best pizza in LA and say it is as good as new york has to offer. Owned and run by italians.

Village Pizza on Larchmont is also good.

Apple pan huh, where is that at? I'm not a fan of Umami either, the food is good. If you're looking to get full that's not the place to go. haha

Apple pan is on pico by the west side pavillion.

    Umami is over rated.

Best burgers - "The fathers office", but you have to let go of the fact you cant alter it, they will not let you and its only one burger but its $#@!ing amazing. They grind their own mean, using prime ribeye. Just go try it. More of a "gourmet" burger

Also "The Oaks", its a gourmet market in hollywood. Great burger

for an easy burger joint burger check out "hole in the wall". Its off santa monica and sepulveda blvd. Best burger joint burger in my opinion and you must use the Pretzel Bread bun, it changes the game. They just opened one in west hollywood on santa monica as well, havent been there thou.

Google it. Westwood blvd and Pico. Get the hickory burger w cheese. It's been there since 1947 and the "new" guy working there has been there for 27 years. LA landmark and IMO best burger in town. Give it a try.

I agree, Fathers Office is very good but the gourmet burgers are not my thing. Have to try hole in the wall, that sounds like my kind of place. Thanks for the suggestion.

Never had anything by ny/nj pizza so I can't comment. However my future father in law owns a resturant and pizzaria and he says its all in the water. They make their own doe/sauce and use quality cheese. Been there for 30 years so he's doing something right.

Well, I live in the valley and go to school in Santa monica so I'm never really around there. I heard the counter is great, I will be going there next instead of Umami.

Can't believe you went to Newport with out me. I was there on Wednesday at La Cave. Almost met up with some ladies last night but I passed the $#@! out.

Never had NY pizza. I've been to my mothers land and had real Italian pizza and know nothing will compare.
