Isn't there a key hole above the license plate?
My E00 had one there, I would assume its typical on most BMW's?

Key FOB has a key insert that slides out.
Turn the key the old fashioned way.

I think it's missing from that key. Wasn't my car, was @e92's. Anyway, got a jump and it's all good.

Ok, so that doesn't work either. The key turns but doesn't open the trunk, it unlocks it. It's still a power latch. I can't open it.

last resort could have been going through the seats, into the trunk from the back and using the emergency inner latch (for if you're kidnapped in your own car right?)

I think I can only fold down the seats from the trunk.

Sorry, I was totally wrong there. I didn't turn the key hard enough. Turn all the way to the left until it stops, then twist hard and it pops up.

No, it's not under warranty. A window place should do it but I'm not going to bother. I'll wait for a cracked windshield first.

I would've just bought a new one, and I did have some extra cash but I payed bills early and the end of the month is around the corner. Anyway, I played it cheap and bought myself a nice portable jumper to keep me going for a few more days.
It's a nice piece of equipment (twss) I'm keeping it.

So the battery is done? See if someone who got a lightweight battery here can hook you up with an OEM battery.
