Ok, M54 is now in with the S54. We will be keeping the E46's together and allowing the E36 guys to have their area.

06-28-2010, 02:39 PM #31Absolutely but in the interest of getting E46 activity higher this is the right move. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Most of the FI S54 and M54 people know each other anyway....it kind of makes sense.
I've been so swamped with other projects, I haven't had much of a chance to even look at my own stuff. I'll get around to actually doing something worth posting about someday....

ok, so it has been a while. I have been diligently working on this project and have gotten a few things together... I contracted a shop to build me a motor mount, of which I don't have a pic right now, a wastegate pipe and the first two bends of the downpipe.
I'm still planning to modify the downpipe to add a flex section, but this will do for first fireup, the flex section will come before the car ever sees boost. the flex section will go over where the 3-3.5" transition takes place. the wastegate tube has a nice little flex section. The entire exhaust after the 3" pipes was cut by me and tacked together by my friend, Frankie. It was tigged by a not so local shop.
So, after much molding of the engine bay with the timeless hammer, everything fits- engine has gone in and out roughly 50 times... and this will be quiet a cluttered engine bay, but I'll try to make it clean and somewhat pretty. I'm not even going to try to put a meth tank in there, congrats to hpf in making that fit.
I have some other things to figure out where to mount, but that shouldn't be too difficult. over 95% of the fabwork is done... now I have to do things like figuring out if i want to mount the fuel pump in the oem filter location or more like the e36 obd1 filter location... but more against the framerail

I have newer pics, with the entire exhaust welded up, but they're a bit too high res... they'll be posted up after i edit them down, I'm lazy right now
EDIT ...sorry for the initial huge images, a little edit down

No need to edit the images, board resizes.
Finally we get an update
Was wondering where you went.
If you ask me, this is beautiful:

Just wanted our M54 friends to know prefixes have been added to this forum, so you can sort by M54 which is like having your own forum

Hi Sticky, sounds good but how is that^ done? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I can sort by thread but that doesn't quite do the trick prefixwise...
-
12-30-2010, 05:47 PM #39Just click on the prefix. For example, to display all M54 threads simply click on M54. For S54, same thing. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
