    CP-E helping make a single turbo N54 happen?

    This is what I read on some obscure forum:

    Well, the big day has arrived.

    The 335i has been dropped off at JE Import Performance for a Single Turbo Conversion. This shop is incredible, they do completely one off kits and do a damn good job. At the end of the day, adding bolt ons simply didn't cut it. Most manufacturers are way overpriced and seem to cut corners. Yea, theres a high demand for parts, but everyplace seemed to charge way too much.

    Now, this install has been in the works for a while now. We wanted to make sure everything was just right. From the turbo, to the equal length manifold, to the blow off valves, everything needed to be perfect. JE really busted their ass to make sure everything would go smoothly before my car arrived.

    I won't get into details of this bad ass setup yet, but there is room for an equal length manifold. Actually, it fits very easy.

    As far as engine management and fuel is concerned, CP-E seemed like the perfect fit to work on the car. Jake was the most helpful person I have ever met, neurophysiologist to neurophyschologist. When running some tests, the stock fuel system simply did not cut it at all. CP-E and JE collaborated and determined that fabricating a new intake manifold was simply not worth the cost. The airflow didn't really improve at all.

    Jake decided to fabricate a spacer and run duel fuel pumps. This spacer allows for 6 additional fuel injectors to spray at a 30 degree angle. Perfect! Meth injection simply was not precise enough for this project.

    Engine management wise, the Standback and ProFuel Controller are awesome products. Standback allowed for complete wastegate control and their monitoring parameters were simply perfect for this project. Please don't start a debate over what engine management system will work. What I know, and what the owner of JE knows, is that the Standback was the best choice. Let us leave it at that.

    I will be posting pictures as each milestone is reached. The first step is the exhaust manifold. Heres a hint: think of an octopus.

    Hey Guys,
    Yes. It is happening.
    Jake from CP-E can elaborate, but the car is at JE import performance now. Tomorrow a flange for the exhaust manifold will be CNCed. Then the fabrication for the equal length manifold will occur. That will take a few days
    Its gonna be sick. Duel wastegates, Duel blow off valves.

    ANd this has been in the works for a while now.

    Everything is coming together nicely.

    Here is what is going on with the build as we speak:

    Today: Finish removing all stock parts, remove motor. Start working on .CAD drawing for the exhaust manifold flange
    Tomorrow: CNC flange and start working on the equal length runners
    Friday into middle of next week: Complete exhaust manifold.

    Honestly, I would like details on everything possible. You can share what color pants the mechanic is wearing if you want, I know everyone is going to be following this closely and I would like BimmerBoost to be the source for initial info due to CP-E.

    No harm, no foul, BB is just getting going so not like I expect everyone to be here instantly, I was just joking around.

    Thats fair enough. I will share some more information with you:

    1) engine management- CP-E standback and profuel controller will be utilized.
    2) Fuel System - Custom duel walbro fuel pumps with six additional injectors. The six injectors will be approximetely 180-210 cc and be positioned in a spacer between the engine and the intake manifold. Fabricating a new intake manifold was not worth the cost.
    3) Exhaust Manifold - Equal Length Manifold
    4) Turbo - GT37 Twin Scroll
    5) Wastegates - Two Tial 38 mm Wastegates on each end of the exhaust manifold
    6) Blow Off Valves - Two Blow Off Valves. One recirculates air, one blows off
    7) Downpipe - 3 inch downpipe
    8) Exhaust - 3 inch exhaust
    9) Intercooler Piping - 3 inch too

    thats all I can think of now. Will provide pictures here first.

    Actually, no. A single blow off valve wouldnt blow off fast enough in this case. Adding two helps the feel of the throttle between shifts.

    nice, im also going to be following this closely even though i have a deposit down elsewhere. i have yet to see a single on the n54 work. two companies publicly tried and failed. hope the third time is the charm Click here to enlarge was expecting it to be HPF, but at the rate this is going, you may be the first working, reliable single. good luck and god speed.
