I just find it odd that the 135 community likes the STD standard.

This hypothetical is just weird: A blown 2011 Camaro SS, a blown C6 Vette, a blown C63, a blown M3, and FBO/tuned 135i go to a dyno for a dyno day. All of the above cars except for the 135 request their dyno runs to be measured in SAE. Why does the 135 choose for his runs to be measured by the STD standard?

I'm not trying to start an argument. I'm just stating my opinion.

stock 135, at 13.5 psi it made like 330. So I find it hard to believe that valvetronic adds another 50 whp.

I've been to millers shop many times. I made 415 uncorrected which ended up being over 430 std. Car had dci meth catted dowpipes and an exhaust on a jb3 map 10. Btw a 1m will not be any faster or make any more power over a 135 assuming equal tuning. What it will do is take longer to overheat on trackdays.

Very cool. I've done (in my C63) a number of rolls from various speeds against a tuned 135. My very good friend drives one and he loves it. I'll tell you one thing, I can't race him from a dig on street tires. Also, when you're chasing a tuned 135 -- even with stock exhaust -- it sounds wicked, those turbos. I'm sure you know, obviously... just sayin'.

Matt stated the N54 in 1M is a bit different.

Depends on who's doing the tuning. I think my car came out pretty strong. I have a from OE TUNING, customed tweaked by Bren of BrenTuning. Jeremy knows my car. Might not recognize it now though.
    **cheap raceland downpipes
    **new intercooler
    **OE TUNE tune

Here's my DYNO chart from summer 2010...at the bottom:

    ^ Great power curves.

So, how nice did the car feel when you installed the dp's? Did you have to adjust your tune? Would you say the car is on the loud side now?

I talk to my friend who has the 135 about his car pretty often and these are the mods he wants to do.

The car feels really fast. I want to switch downpipes now. I think I can gain another 7-9whp with the Macht Schnell downpipes since they're 3" instead of 2.5 like the Racelands. I now have a Berk exhaust system, updated tune and an LSD. I have to go back to the DYNO.

I wish they made my car with a DCT! Imagine 2012 or 2013 1M coupe with DCT! Thanks by the way.

For some reason the DYNO chart is gone...here it is again along with another photo:

Your setup sounds really sweet... with an LSD no less. Very nice.

It's not loud at all, it has a nice sound to it. It was louder last month before I changed exhausts. My 1st exhaust system was the Berk Technology with no muffler...the sport exhaust. Too much drone for me. I sold it to my friend and he doesn't have downpipes so it isn't as loud on his car. I now have the Berk Technology with a muffler...sweet sound.

Here's a video I found on the web of the Berk:

That sounds great. Thanks for sharing the vid. I especially liked the last part where the camera was right over the tailpipes.

It really should have it. I don't care if it steps on the M3's toes with it.

    The 2010 & 2011 135s have a DCT option but it's with the N55 motor.

Yeah, it almost made me buy one the other day. A 2011 fully loaded with DCT, the car looked very nice, price wasn't too bad either. Can't wait till those N55's start making big power with an upgraded big single + DCT!!!!

The dct in the n55 slips at lower power levels. Unless you plan a tyranny overhaul...dct and power is not for you.

Disc upgrade is simple and straightforward. Not even that expensive and the BMW DCT trans is EASY to drop.
