    First Dynos for the 1M

Took a ride out to Powerhouse Performance today, scheduled to meet up with Jeremy in a few to take a crack at tuning.

So far baselines with an Injen Intake have proved to put down 336hp uncorrected, 347hp STD correction. Within thr next hour or so we will see what we can do with it..

Sticky Im sending you the dynos as I cant upload them from the phone..too big.

That is some serious power... What is the 0-100 MPH or 0-160 kph for this car?

347whp is serious power?! That's only 75 or so more than a non M n54. A simple tune will net you that much whp for a few hundred $$

Should have been a bit more clear. Serious power FOR what I would have expected. In theory, given that the "non M" n54 makes 300 - this should only be making 30 HP more at the wheels, not 75 HP... I am not saying this is an insane amount of power, just surprising that after drivetrain loss the engine is that strong is all...

I like the way it drives...I learned from Jeremy today that these N54 engines are NOT the run of the mill production engines...they have some internal 'mods' that sets them apart from the rest ;-)

I think BMW has pulled a good card out of the box with this setup, I might have to eat crow about hating on this car with a stock N54, cuse it clearly doesnt have it..

Why are you guys using STD? The numbers are inflated.

^ Btw, just to clarify, I didn't mean your numbers on your dyno are inflated. I meant that STD reads higher than SAE. And both measures can be corrected, so why not use SAE?

To be honest i dont kniw the difference between all the corrections, but bigglare dynoed his 1M using STD correction and we did the same to compare. Uncorrected it made 370.

That makese sense to stick with the same standard of correction to compare from baseline on up. Thanks.

Further driving experiences with this car, all I can say is that I really want a 1M...

Also I googled this but didnt find any results, but Jeremy stated that BMW is using the Alpina motor in this car...lower compression, forged internals etc. He said his source in Germany confirmed it and just by looking at the standard tables in the DME, BMW left a LOT of room to move up Click here to enlarge. Fueling is still the limitation we think, only futher testing will see how far this goes.

Also Alex from Gintani was there, I didnt even realize it was him until my friend informed me later on. Both of them are standup guys, I dont think there is enough good I can say.

nice....so with meth, full boltons and upgraded turbos we may be able to see a bit more power than the ~500whp weve seen thus far?

thats pretty stout if youthink about it.

STD seems to be the STD for the N54 community, so i dont mind that.

id like to see what fmic, DPs do

and then add meth if needed..

It was ran on PowerHouse Performances dyno in Farmingdale.

For those who dont know, it is owned by Chris Miller, formerly of NRG tech, and who currently holds the world record for the fastest street class civic, 8.3 @ 183 mph. I dont think it reads high, it is a run of the mill dynojet. Best way for me to find out is to strap a stock 335 on there, and if it makes 270ish whp, then I know its good.

Maybe. This motor is so strong that it makes hp numbers that regular 335 guys strive to hit on full boltons, and we havent tapped into the exhaust mods yet.

List is going to be AR downpipes and an N55 midsection, as it has no cats...factory fitment.

Intercooler we dont know yet, might send it off to helix or even ets and see what we can get to fit without cutting.

I've seen around 13.5psi on the 1M tuning. It's much stronger than the 335is tuning. Click here to enlarge

I would rather push for fueling ideas rather than meth. I was kicking some ideas with Alex..

I thought most 135s barely made 330hp with just a tune...ive seen 350 with no mods on some Cobb tunes...this car was stock with the exception of an intake.

I'm very impressed. It would seem that this car makes as much whp as a 335\135i with full bolt-ons with around 13psi. wtf?
