hi Setra, any plans to run an oil catch can on this setup??? or do you feel it not needed?? i run the same kit on my z4///M was thinking about adding a CC but was unsure if im just wasting money..... as you helped with the development on this kit did ess ever run your car with a CC during the harder runs @ the track for example ;-) The car is quite simply awesome BTW, truely gorgeous, the ess kit is awesome, very pleased with mine in my little z4m....
can you outline the differences between the vt2-500 and the 550 kits?? how do ess deal with the fueling needs??

I haven't quite decided yet... On my old car (the one ESS used for development), who saw it's fair share of lap miles, i didn't have a catch can, but this car will be driven harder for longer stints. The engine in this car also have more miles then my old car, so i might install one in this. I don't think you'll need one though.

The difference between vt2-500 and 550 is a bigger intercooler, smaller supercharger pulley and larger crank pulley. The VT2-550 has bigger injectors, and a different fuel pressure regulator. It still uses the oem fuel pump.

Got some pictures from PeeBee after he had test fitted the new bumper to the car. He had to make some small adjustments to it, but now i think it's ready to be painted. Here's the photo's i got.

That looks nice and aggressive. That front splitter is gonna make a lot of difference in handling. Great build.
Is this just a fun thack car or are you gonna compeat in a competition with it?

Now the wheels are turning once again. I have spent the last months without working on my car at all due to other priorities (got engage, christmas and some other things)

But yesterday i ordered a HPF stage 2 clutch, bimmerworld/c&r oil cooler, subframe reinforcement kit and some FIA approved switches. Also booked a 2 day open circuit trip to Nrburgring 20-21 march. Hoping for good weather and some proper testing..

The fender is custom made. However, PeeBee Motorsport is planing on mold a front kit with those fenders and front bumper. I suggest you send a email to info@peebeemotorsport.com regarding this.

The next project will be to install a FIA master battery switch. Going to buy some wires and clamps tomorrow.
Also got my clutch in the mail the other day. A beefy looking thing..

Also bought myself a new car that can pull the M3-R on a trailer.

That's it for today. The car is in pieces once again and just over a month until my Nrburgring trip. Time to get a move on...

Got the main battery switch done yesterday. I didn't have time to wrap the dashboard and that stuff back together, but at least the switch is in working condition. The GT regulations state that you have to be able to turn off the switch from outside of the car, so i took a wire from just above the hood, through the firewall and into the coupe. Here's a couple of pics.

Also choose to strengthen the coupling between two parts on the CAE shifter arm that goes from the gearbox to the stick. It's originally pressed together as shown below, but we welded the parts together so it wouldn't start sliding in the future.

Also bought some new racing gear. A lovely combo from alpinestars, sparco, hans and Arai.

Good stuff man. How much the racing gear cost? My sparco set apparently was fake and it's ripped off.
