SAD: Trading "up"? from the M

Man, this was a sad day. I never thought I'd be so attached to a car as I watched her driven off.
After 25K in mods, I sadly traded in my M for what is just a different animal. The loss from the mods was painful, but I enjoyed it while I had her. All my friends say "trading up" but I just don't feel that way. I don't think they understand. Anyway, I will miss her. Click here to enlarge

The good news is I'll be able to GOPRO some runs with a good friend that still has his M and share them with everyone. I'm going to stick around this forum M-less BMW is in my blood.

Anyway, here's what I got into:Click here to enlarge

I must admit I look happy there, but if I could've afforded both I would've kept the M.

Congrats though. 360 CS's exhaust note is enough for me to upgrade from any M to it. Click here to enlarge

Sorry, it was from an iphone. I thought the same regarding the exhaust, but mostly above 5500. I think they thought I was crazy when I said the exhaust was way better sounding than the scuderias they had at the dealer.

You traded up. That is a better drivers car. Won't have the power, but has the soul.

Sticky, it's a Challenge Stradale which has a little more power (425) than a M3 in stock form, but I don't think there's any way of approaching the modded power of the M in this car. Oddly, the lower speed times (0-60) are very similar to the M despite being a ton lighter at only 2800lbs. I guess the speed is at the top- the torque curve is flat, mirroring the M's. Mostly just feels faster due to it's rawness.

Your car sounds better than almost any Ferrari out there, including 458.

Exactly, I was referring to your car in modded form.

The Challenge Stradale is amazing. Congrats.

Not sure i would ever trade any BMW for any Ferrari....

Not a fan of Ferraris.... Italian cars make me want to vomit...

Haven't got the chance to drive one (a Ferrari, have driven plenty of Italian Fiats and Alfas), maybe my opinion will be altered...
