Run's a 2.9x final gear as well. I believe he has 15" wheels with slicks. There was no video taken. Slips were posted though. I believe the same guy also has a drag E36 m3.

I think this was his last run of the season.. I tried translating the original posts on a Swedish forum and I believe he said he's done for this season.

shouldnt this be first page news lol. after 10 years someone finally got into the 10's!.

139 is pretty weak, but I think he was going for ET not Trap. If he was spinning off lauch i'm sure he'd hit at least 145+. Agood launch does not always mean a good trap speed.

A high 10 sec with 918whp and 1,68 60-fot is terrible (600whp M3 E36īs are doing same thing), and i dont get it why the E46 M3īs are so hard to get decent 1/4 mile times with? , Hats off to PPF they do really nice builds and Andreas is a skilled tuner.

I too don't understand why its so difficult to get good times with E46? Didn't the E92 do like 10.6 with 570 whp 360 torque? Why does the e46 need 918 whp?

Probably due to the rear suspension geometry. When it squats there is probably much less rubber on the road than a E36 or E90.

Rear Geo is same between E36 and E46, except E46 has wider track IIRC.

The RTA are a direct swap, factoring you include E46 Hub, lower control arms are the same as well as upper. Subframe is wider, stronger axles on E46, but everything else is basically the same.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Exactly, the rear end kills the E46.

You may be right but I believe it's a weak area in the E36 as well. They just have been breaking parts for longer.

Its the cost associated with dragging them , combined with the rear end. Thus far in my very few attempts (maybe 4 passes, with anti-lag and drag radials) I've gone through a tranny and a clutch.. most others have snapped axles and rear ends.. I fully expect to do that as well. Each one of those components costing ATLEAST $1k.. or more.

Once the prices come down a bit and there's more salvage parts available and people are willing to do irreversible things to the car to assist with its traction, etc.. you'll see more people taking it seriously and netting some better results.

That and thus far 99% of the cars who've given it a go have been on 18"+ drag radials, or have done so in bad DA's, etc. Only HPF and maybe 1 or 2 others with cars capable (in the hp range) to run a mid 10 have actually tried with all they've got.

Others just roll in, bolt on drag radials, don't run anti-lag and just walk it out of the hole.

I think we're going to see some interesting cars at MFest this year going for a record. Should be fun to watch (and participate).
