Thumbs up New HPF STAGE 5 TURBO - Precision 8285, 1.28 AR

The GT45 wouldn't fit in the limited space that's available in the M3. We are now trying the highly recommended Precision 8285. We have a mysterious 4,500rpm rev limiter with the ProEFI that comes and goes that we can't seem to track down. There is no on-board logger so we are trying to get some other software to work on our computer so we can look at the logs. However... we downloaded the software for $30 and that software doesn't seem to let us look at the logs. Help!! So we may switch back to the AEM again to try and get some dyno numbers out of this new turbo unless ProEFI can help us get through these issues.
Here's a picture of the new monster turbo Click here to enlarge We are told we should be able to see 1100rwhp with this bad boy.
    Chris.

good luck Chris, keep us updated, please give us more info on the Pro-EFI problem as this was the tune going to be used in unfor's n54 single turbo project (after he tried AEM) that suddenly disappeared, maybe he ran into the same tuning issues and gave up. i've always preferred Precision to Garrett fwiw. i think you'll be very happy with its power band.

That looks awesome. Why not try some COMP triple ball bearing turbos? Heard thats one of the least laggy turbo's besides the new borg warner EFR's

LOL, typically you're giving out info, I've learned it best to sit and listen to those who actually know what they're doing.

you guys should focus on getting the power to the ground instead of making more useless power! But yes a call to Neel using their traction control would solve most of your problems. Congrats on yet another HPF stage!

I wouldn't really refer to it as useless. They have traction control that can be changed for each gear I believe.

Or just have a wheel speed differential based traction control like ProEFI Click here to enlarge

Now don't get me wrong most people read my posts and think i am a HPF hater. That simply is not true i think HPF is one of the best if not the best FI companies in the market for our cars! I just think sometimes they use crappy marketing and are too busy trying to put out a new stage or product when they should be perfecting what they have. HPF are innovators and blazing trails is what innovators do but they have a real issue with traction that should be the goal, not making another stage that will never hook in any gear!

The issue with traction isn't really HPF's problem. They dont' sell coil overs and tires with their kits.. its up to the owner to invest in a proper setup that can put that power to the ground.

I don't think you are a hater of any kind and are respectful with all your posts.

To be honest it's hard not to have traction issues at these power levels. They are selling horsepower, you need to learn to use it. As stated above though there are traction control options.

If you pray that way, you wont be accepted.

God wont listen to people who want bad things for other people.

It is more than normal to ask for a 60-130 time from a turbo m3.

ZooyorQ was going to test 60-130.

does this 60-130 hurt you so bad?

Dont even focus on this subject,if you dont like to hear about 60-130 then simply skip my posts, ignore my posts.

I do ask in a very polite manner. Simple "Whats your 60-130 time" There is nothing to be shy of this question.
