Perhaps we have gotten a bit spoiled by BMW's dominating performances this season in ALMS. Seeing them finish 3rd and 4th seems almost out of character. It is certainly possible they would have finished 1-2 if it was not for a torrential downpour forcing an end 13 minutes early. The BMW pit stop strategy would have likely worked out if it was not for the heavy rain. BMW remains atop the manufacturer, driver, and team standings even with the 3-4 finish.

Bobby Rahal, team president:

“We had a bad first pit stop with the No. 56 M3 GT and that ultimately forced our hand with a strategy call which may have worked if it had not rained. Third and fourth is not a bad way to end today, but we always come to finish one-two.”
