    First N55 Dyno - 283 whp 91 octane, 293 whp 94 octane

Motor is very solid, these are great numbers early on. Everyone keep in mind, this dyno was posted on a brand new car that had not even been broken in yet. Motor is just slightly stronger than the N54 stock and slightly underrated.

Car is a brand new 135i with DCT.

A big thank you to BimmerBoost supporting vendor BMS for making this happen!

wish they started the dyno earlier. doesn't this engine have peak torque at somewhere in the 1k range? lol i remember the single was supposed to spool faster, which is pretty cool. i see that it still drops off in power. i wonder when it's unlocked to the potential the n54 is at now, if the stock turbo can not die out at high rpm, or if a CHRA upgrade or larger turbo entirely is needed to fix that drop off.

Happy to help! Results are very similar to the N54 IMHO but with some more lag as expected being its a single turbo. I used 4th gear for the pulls as 5th gear hit the speed limiter (135mph) before the end of the run, but the curves were identical in 4th and 5th.

Cool information. I missed the begginings of the N54 tuning so it will be interesting for me to see how this progresses.

Damnit BMW, that torque curve is backwards! Click here to enlarge Good job Terry! Are you going to try and get a M1/1M, whatever it is, when it comes out as well?

Very nice numbers!! 300whp with a DCT will make a very quick machine. I bet right now it will trap between 105-108mph with the DCT.

n54 looks a tad bit smoother to me and has a wider range of power and torque,

can't wait to see what Terry will do to the n55 though!

I think there right there in power... On the same day i bet there even closer in power!! or maybe the N54 on top :0

So what exactly is the idea here, does the DCT lose less WHP compared to the 6AT on the dyno? This would mean the N54 is really making more power but handicaped by the 6AT?

DCT has higher losses than manual but likely less than auto and really I would argue the N55 is handicapped by not being broken in. I believe Terry said he drove the car 10 miles?

How do auto and manual N54's stack up?
