    Something fun you can do

If you happen to have a trasnsitor and a few wires you can connect them to your piggyback system and make a nice little 2-step rev limiter. Was able to build 6psi or so in neutral with minimal effort. Click here to enlarge And this is with our 135i which is 100% stock aside from the tune. This can't be good for our cats or turbos. Anyway if there is interest among the manual transmission community we can definitely add this as a formal JB4 feature in the future.

Anyway that you could do something similar on an auto trans? Such as when the brake and gas peddle are depressed (and the option is selected on the jb4,don't need this in a roll race) at the same time, the throttle limits the rpm to your set launch rpm. That way when you let go of the brake, you can have the pedal 100% down and you get that 100% when you disengage the brake. That coupled with boost limits would allow for perfect launches all the time. All the user would have to do is put the throttle to the floor.

That would need to be a 2nd gear launch. In 1st gear it would only make tire tracks... Just not enough traction with street tires for this Click here to enlarge

I have nitto street tires and they do really well in first gear launches. But with boost reduce, you could floor it and keep it from spinning.

I guess to sum it up, you could pit the floor with the brake depressed and the jb4 would limit rpm to your set launch rpm (obviously no higher than 2500 unless you have a higher stall torque converter) and when you let off the brake the jb4 boost redid keeps you from spinning. Perfect launch everytime.

I don't think we'll find any benefit for autos. Maybe for the DCTs though! I just happen to have a DCT in the driveway for testing too. Click here to enlarge

Were you manual? Lol there's no way you got a good launch at 1,000RPM, unless you were on dirt or ice or something. On these 255 AD08s on good concrete I can get good traction out of the hole launching at 3,500RPM in 1st and modulating the throttle a bit.

The shift into 2nd is the hard part. Slam it wrong and get too aggressive with the clutch and you'll lose time spinning 2nd.

I haven't tested any REAL tires yet though. Click here to enlarge

    No, it isn't.

And since it behaves LIKE A MANUAL in the WAY IT FUNCTIONS a 2-step will work to build boost at the line and would be nothing like trying to get it to work with a torque converter automatic.

How do people still not get this? Click here to enlarge
