    Loving the JB4/FSB meth kit!

I installed my meth kit yesterday -- took the best part of the afternoon, but the results are outstanding.

I had a couple of small problems which were easily overcome thanks to Terry's excellent support; the first was that I put a cable in the wrong place on the JB4, and the second was a tiny JB4 user error.

The rest of the install was a breeze -- from rear tank installation, routing through the car, and wiring it all together. The provided meth tubing leaves very little room for error in install, and I didn't quite have enough to put the tank where I originally wanted it; so I rigged up a mount for the tank on right hand side. This will be temporary, and I have my eye on a nice big tank for the future.

The car was fast before, but now it's a bit of an animal Click here to enlarge Some poor guy in a diesel pickup truck got the shock of his life this morning.. LOL. It's just so effortless.

I'm running 50/50 meth/water. The install (apart from tank) is completely concealed when the trunk cover is on .. I'm currently leaving it off so I can hear the pump working.

    Couple of pics ..

It's an electronics part that integrates with the JB4 to control the pump/solenoid and measure meth flow.

I get through the meth quickly when doing lots of WOT testing .. so I will definitely be looking at a bigger tank soon; fortunately the meth itself is easy to source, so I've stocked up on that; I think I have at least a couple of months worth sitting in my garage now. The other mod I want to do is to add some kind of float switch to the tank, and a warning LED/alarm in the dash for low meth levels.

What size is the tank now and what size are you looking at?

Yeah it's just a bit of scrap metal I had left over from a another project.. I cut it to about 3" long, and bolted it to the fluid reservoir mount...

I wasn't 100% sure on the best solenoid location, but this seemed as good as any .. it also just about clears the hood .. not sure by how much, but I put a bit of clay on the inside of the hood, and it didn't disturb it .. Click here to enlarge

I ended up using zip ties around mine Click here to enlarge. I ran out of tubing as well. Going to use the home depot refridgeration nylon tubing for the short run between solenoid and nozzle. Shipping for the coolingmist stuff is like $10 for one foot!

I used up every last bit of tubing on my install .. two inches more and it wouldn't have fit .. maybe the tubing provided with this kit should be 2 or 3 feet longer?

I was contemplating going out to find some at Home Depot, but my car was in pieces, and the wife was out somewhere in her car.

i could have made it work if i was slightly less liberal with my cutting. i didn't realize how little tubing they gave until it was too late. i could try to relocate my solenoid right by the charge pipe and i should have enough tubing through one of my scrap pieces. oh well... i'll see when my replacement jb4 arrives. can't get the kit going right now anyway.

Everyone I've talked to say that the 5er is even harder to do than the 3 though. So I want to but I'm also terrified to try because...well this is my only car lol

Congrats, the FSB meth kit is flat out incredible. I love mine, the car is performing better than it ever has. Get her on the track and let her rip now! Grats again.
