Well well, would appear Drew led yet another motor to its demise. Much more quickly this time, eh?

His car was already there weeks ago and he was trying to come up with money. Obviously he won't say what is really go on but I think people get that by now. Nice of ESS to cover him... guess he is also used to that by now.

I'm happy though, at least now he won't be a waste of gas.

Anyone else find it odd this is happening after ESS announced no low compression motors?

I doubt they will let him since this is now a fully sponsored car. Just expect 60-130 times from him and no actual direct comparisons. There are many more kits out there on the stock motors and we don't even have a direct comparison for those.

    That is an interesting question.

Somehow I don't think he would. We'll see, I'll do my best to force him into it.

Now I'm thinking... stroke the motor?

Heh, good question. He's too busy trying to scheme crazy stories rather than post info on his build. By now he is probably typing up an essay on how aliens abducted his car and scorched his pistons using them as fuel for running the mile in their spaceship since only his parts were technologically advanced enough. Or something that sounds more stupid than what I just typed.

I asked him when he blew this motor. Think he'll answer honestly?

He is the Eddie Haskell of BMW land.

No, he won't, but at least you tried. His credibility took a huge hit and this kind of thing further enforces it. Car shows up out of nowhere for "upgrades" at ESS while he disappears for a bit and lists parts up for sale? Just tell us straight what went wrong so we can all learn.

My suspicion is something went wrong with the meth again while he was trying to set some "record" numbers for ESS as was agreed upon. I'm sure they will take care of him and this time he can't complain about the downtime as he has nowhere else to go and no other tuner to play against them. Doubt AA will try to use him to hurt a competitor.

Just thought I'd point this out -

Why would someone spend months searching for a low mileage, running motor if they were planning on rebuilding low compression just a few months after installing it?

They have no choice. What can you do, say the motor blew and replace it thereby losing your aura of invincibility and self-proclaimed superiority or say you changed your mind and suddenly decided to do a low compression build thereby skirting the issue entirely? The choice was made based on what would be best for perception. I'll get to the bottom of this eventually, count on it.

I'm just amazed this guy gets hooked up on everything, blows motors, and then gets hooked up on stage III's. I'm a freaking idiot for paying. I should have clogged my meth and F'd up my motor and then told Gintani to give me a Stage III on their dime. Nah, I'll live doing it the right way.

    What goes around comes around.

I think whatever the case is I hope he has fun with the car.
I feel ESS has gotten way tooo into it against Gintani. Gintani was going down this route not matter what and now ESS I really don't see the point.
all I can say its a very very tuff job to built a S65 engine all the parts and time, effort is not joke.
well I guess my buddy will have a built motor stage 3 coming to taiwan on a DCT soon too... now that will be fun

I think i can see what happened and what is happening. A guy with a Gintani kit blew his engine because of something( in my opinion he took the car over the edge ), then he thought if he stays with Gintani the very same thing will happen to him so he switched to another company which apparently their kits run without any issues. I think this is the basic of the story.

we all say we would this or that if we were him, but the thing is we are/were not him. the only person who maybe experienced something close to that is you Joseph, and you stayed with Gintani. but brother i don't think you had financial problems at the time whereas as you guys say at the time Drew blew the engine, he had many problems with his life including financial problems.

so here he is, he has financial problems, a blown engine, and a company willing to give him a kit. what would I do? would i still stay with Gintani? probably Yes, but what he did isn't as dirty as you guys think.

if he wanted he could say bad things about Gintani to achieve more credit from ESS guys when switched to ESS, but he didn't.

I don't think the motor is being built... Just a pulley swap. Crank and supercharger pulley swap, going up to VT650. And getting some MORR lighter wheel set up. AFAIK

Just on m3forum.... I guess he his building the motor.

What's the big deal? He blew the motor running too aggressively, whether it was too much boost, a meth failure, or both. He got a new engine and repeated the process just using a different tuner.

Only difference is that this tuner is rebuilding his motor for him? That seems like one hell of a company to me! Hell if ESS was in the GT-R game I'd tell them turn my turbos up to 20+psi with meth and all and break some stock turbo records. If it blows, they build me a forged motor and I can make 1000whp lol.
