    Ford Australia Max Max Concepts

Ford rose to a challenge from Top Gear, and designed two Mad Max-themed concept cars to celebrate the revival of the movie franchise.

In addition to launching an acting career Mel Gibson (we're not touching that one with a ten foot pole), the film and its two sequels were famous for exotic cars and motorcycles that used to run unsuspecting prey and their precious last drops of gasoline. And not only machine of the film was just as memorable as the pursuit of Max Special, a 1973 Ford Falcon XB GT351.

In case you did not know, Mad Max series is planned for a fourth installment. Tentatively due out in theaters in 2012, Mad Max: Fury Road will star Tom Hardy, Teresa Palmer and Charlize Theron ... but, of course, the real stars, we will be more interested in cars, currently being designed.

Two of the leading candidates for the heroes of the car were created in the approximate size of 40 percent and are displayed at the International Motor Show of Australia in Melbourne. See the two models at a number of other possible designs in our gallery of high-resolution images below. Also suggest that you click past the break to view a short video of the concept in the show in Australia, the press release.

hmmm Charlize Theron, i like that.

back on topic, i think they should use the original Falcon, still looks bad-ass and also looks far more realistic than these 2 concepts. it isn't Batman no need to some fancy cars.

When I was young I had a huge Mad Max filmposter on the wall in my room with the original Interceptor. I really liked the mean looks of the thing.
