    Sure you can
There are quick starthelp batteries you can plug into the cigarette lighter plug, or you can use the cnnectors you find in the engine bay, near the passenger side. If you do hook up a battery there, be.sure to connect the positive wire first, and ground last. After starting, disconnect ground first. Do NOT cross the wires, not even for.fun.

So I tried that and it started up just fine the next time but only once. This is so annoying.

The dealership wants to charge me $120 just to check the battery an almost $400 to install if I need a new one.
    No way.
I said I'll get my own.
    Advice, please

oh btw, forgot to update my situation on this thread. i replaced the front windshield seal with a body shop. here's why: i went to the dealership (first time since '07) and asked for an estimate to put a new seal. SA tells me that he needs to take out the old seal, remove all the glue, take out the windshield with a suction crane (risking cracking the windshield and it needing to be replaced) then put new glue, reapply the windshield (if its not cracked lol) and then reseal with the rubber weather strip. Total estimate? $1100! are you serious?! well suffice it to say i went to a local body shop, ordered the new seal through them ($20 with a vin number) and they applied it within 2 hrs for free (ive done and forwarded a lot of business through them, my mom's mini is even there atm).

the seal looks excellent and seems to be holding up. i never had a leak and it was more precautionary than anything. only time will tell if i did the right or wrong thing but one this is certain, my wallet didnt take the slightest of hits.

    LOL at both prices.
You can check the battery yourself with voltmeter and such stuff ( if you have them I'll explain how ), also you can drop it at a shop and they will cost you less than $10.
$400 for battery is just funny, just replaced battery for a 7-Series ( Auto Craft ) for $300 and the guy was asking too much for the battery but i was in a rush so I bought it. Buy the battery and change it yourself, you will save about $200.

want to pay less? get one of these and charge the current battery once a week though it's a temporary solution.

after re-reading the thread my only conclusion is you have the power being grounded out somewhere. that or the battery has lost its ability to hold charge (deteriorated plates, maybe loss off sulfuric acid, who knows). like sorena said, charge it up, then use a voltmeter across the two terminals to check voltage. crank it up and check again. have a buddy shut down the car while you keep the leads on the battery, see if the voltage slowly leaks away, or if abruptly disappears (it shouldnt do either, normally). a quick charge like sorena suggested is just a bandaid, but it would be nice to keep in the car in case you're stranded without power, i have one. your best bet is to get a new battery after testing.

Something came to my head, it maybe related to your problem.
While I was driving, someone slowly hit my car from back slowly. nothing happened, but after that light accident, every 3 days i had to charge my battery. first i thought it was battery, so I changed it but this couldn't resolve the problem. So I went to 10 different shops to find the leak. and you know what? they failed at finding the leak. we knew there was a leak nobody was able to find it.

What was the problem? Shops' equipment for finding the leak in car are good for +12amps, but sometimes the leak is so low (2-3 amps) that the equipment can't find it. It caused me thinking about this situation to find a solution whereas thinking isn't my favorite way lol Click here to enlarge

to find the leak, get a 1.5-3 volts flashlight, and connect two different wires to it's terminals.
turn off the car and while everything is off ( lights, radio ... ), open the fuse box. remove every single fuses, and instead of the fuse, connect those two wires to the plug which you removed the fuse from. if the flashlight started to light, this means there is a lick in that part. So the leak is located.
if nothing happened, remove the cable from the negative pole of the battery. connect the flashlight's wires to that cable and the negative pole of the battery, it this caused the flashlight to light, this means the leak is between battery and the fuse box.

Excuse my bad English, tried my best.
and BTW be careful with the flashlight, if you connect the two wires to wrong poles, it will say BOOM lol.[/COLOR]

I'll just get a new battery from a regular place like a tire shop or something. I made one call, the better battery should be around $240 installed. Then I guess I'll take it to the dealer. I wish I could clear my codes but I don't have a laptop ( that's why I sold my bav tool )

    Exclamation

I need help with my battery. I just replaced it and the lights went on, so I guess it worked, but when I hit the start button, it all cut off as if a fuse blew ( I hope it's that simple ) besides that, idk where to start trouble shooting.

It seems wrong for a fuse to blow like that but I have no clue.

I just went out to check the fuses and I noticed the lights are back on when I open the doors. But the car cut off when I hit the ignition. I also holds the key as if it has gone totally dead again.
