car about to get towed :(

So my car just $#@!ing broke down. Turned the car on and about a minute went by then a light pops up(thermometer sign) telling the my engine is overheating. So, I shut the $#@!ing car off and let it cool down a little. Turned it on again and bam after 3 mins it starts overheating again. Looks like it might be the water pump or radiator? What do u guys think? Im watching her get towed right now Click here to enlarge didn't even have time to remove the jb4 as its very late. FML! Click here to enlarge

    Sorry to hear that, man.

It sounds indeed like probably the waterpump. Too little cooling fluid would have caused a warning long time ago. Waterpump is electric, so not a multibelt problem.
Did you at least put the jb4 on map 0?

I would ask to get it towed home or atleast somewhere near the dealer before you drop it off. I would not risk it with the mods, especially if warranty is involved.

Yeah I put the JB4 in map 0. They took it to the dealer already. I've had work done there before with mods on just without the JB4.
Edit: It would be insane to remove all the mods. lol downpipes, exhaust, chargepipe/BOV, IC, intakes. I'll stay be paying a little, I'm on my CPO warranty.

Awwww look at that sick BMW going to the doctor on a car ambulance....... Click here to enlarge

I hope it doesn't hit you in the pocket too hard. I gotta see what my CPO covers, my headlights seem to rattle around at night over tiny bumps or road imperfections.....maybe I'm low on headlight fluid.

Sounds like a water pump. If the temp goes sky high immediately that's a pretty good indication of it going bad. How many miles on your car?

Yeah, sorry, I meant just the JB4 and/or intakes. Easy stuff to remove.

Let us know of the updates! Hopefully everything works out.

I just came back from the dealer, and it was in-fact the water pump. It is covered under the CPO warranty, so I'm good. They are just charging me 138 dollars for labor due to having my vehicle "heavily" modded according to them, + 50 dollar co-payment. Not bad if you ask me. The towing was free too, gotta love the BMW Assist. Dealer where I took it are always cool, I had them fix my car there before under warranty with a few mods on. It was down for like almost a month too and they never complained about the mods. On the other hand BMW of San Diego sucks, I took my car in there once for a hesitation problem after I put on an Intake and a back-axle exhaust, and they blamed it on the mods. I had to take it to where I bought the car, and they took care of me as usual.

That isn't bad, I haven't had to take my car in since i've been FBO, I was always interested on what they would charge. It would cost you more to have someone take all the mods off. That sucks that it failed but sounds like you made out ok in the long run.
