Various tune only, tune+DCI, and WW meth kit dynos

    Hey guys,

Had a couple hours open today so I headed over to the dyno to do a little testing. The test car is our 2008 135i which is now 100% bone stock including the OEM rims/runflats, stock exhaust, stock intercooler, stock intake, etc. Fuel was 91 octane Shell with a can of octane booster. I've been doing long term testing on the octane booster and add a can during every fill up. Lab results have shown it makes our 91 octane fuel similar to the 93 octane the rest of the country gets. So far I really like the stuff.

For the dyno testing I did a few runs in each of these trims: stock, JB4 map 1, JB4 map 1 + dual cone intake, JB4 map 2, JB4 map 2 + dual cone intake, JB4 map 3 (WW meth kit enabled with 45 additive), and finally JB4 map 3 + dual cone intake. For the meth runs to keep it realistic I used off the shelf 49/51 boost juice, a production/unmodified JB4 board, and a single CM10 nozzle. I kept the settings the same between the meth runs to isolate only the intake. Then I took the best of each set for the comparisons. Run to run variance within each group was pretty small.

Overall I was pretty happy with the results. As expected the higher the boost levels the more gains the dual cone intake provided over the restrictive stock airbox. Even on map 1 with it's heavy boost taper to 9psi at redline gains of 10hp+ were observed. On map 2 we got an additional 20hp+ up top. Finally on map 3 with meth (~17psi) gains were as much as 25hp+.

I was also pleased with the performance of the WW meth kit. Getting a solid 400rw with ~$1000 worth of mods that can be installed and removed in a half hour is pretty insane. Can't wait to get this kit in to production. Click here to enlarge

Very nice! I might actually get a meth kit, after yours goes into production. I have full bolt ons, and that car with meth still makes more power than me on map 1. $#@!ing gotta love meth. What octane booster are you running? I would love to drive on map 2 more often vice map 1.

Awesome stuff Terry. I wasn't planning on adding a meth kit to my mod list, but now I might have to.

Nice. I know a lot of new guys were looking for dyno's of just the basics-ie tune and dci and then meth on top. kudos for a tuner that actually delivers data that customers ask for Click here to enlarge

I'm currently running the PROcede. However, the realistic pricing of your meth kit (~$479 right?) has me sincerely thinking about switching. I already have your DCI.

When do you think you'll have it available?

I have DPs that I haven't installed, I think 400 whp should be enough, but I don't know...

We have a few kits in testing now and are busy collecting parts to make another 25. Hopefully, in the next week or two I can open ordering up for them.

Interesting. You don't happen to have one of those "move to our tune and we'll trade your old one" things right?

What octane in a can gives you 2pts? What data to support that?

I've been testing the NOS Race formula w/ MMT. They claim 6pts but testing has shown around 2-2.7. There is some magazine test floating around the Internet. Torco also works well. maybe a 4pt bump. But has to be mail ordered.

Very nice dynos there .. incredible to hit 400/432 with just JB4+DCI+Meth.

If only Canada Post would start delivering mail again, my meth kit might arrive!

    Completely understand.

What exactly comes in the kit? If I got the kit and the JB4, I need nothing else right? No VC2 or CMGS? Already have the DCI. Is it the same for your kits on the website?, just with the addition of a tank? I'm debating whether or not I want my WW fluid to be my meth, winters here are rough and I need the fluid to clean the windshield.

    Thanks.

WW kit includes pump, brackets, solenoid, CM10 nozzle, wire, line, fittings, and FSB controller that connects to the JB4. You'd need to mount the nozzle in the OEM chargepipe or buy one of our meth elbows or larger chargepipes. If you use 50/50 mix it works great for cleaning the windows a well. Click here to enlarge

    Best,
    T

I have a 5 gal can of torco that I bought when i had my Sti. Whats your thoughts on it fouling up the spark plugs. My tuner said it worked but said it had a high mmt content, and I seen pics of guys spark plugs that turned all red after using torco for awhile.
