    Performing Imports N55 Engine Software?

Performing Imports has a new flash on the scene for the N55. Awaiting word on if it's for which N55 series (ie 135, 335, X5, 535's?) Anybody know anything about this, or are they even on this forum?

Here is the link to their site:

Above site looks like a work in progress..

    I quote from e90:

We are now offering N55 Engine software in the US. N55 335 gains 46hp and 88.5 pounds of torque.
We also have 335 diesel software. 49hp and 66 pounds of torque.
    Please call us for information.
    Performing Imports

No dyno's... 335's are the lucky recipients, but curious to know if they offer for more than just the 335. I guess they could be called for more info...

They state it will work on 'Any Chassis with the N55' , but I question that as I know that the 535's and X5 have a different software load than the 135/335's, to account for the 8 speed transmission.

With no dynos or further details I would be leery. Also don't know of anyone on the forums running their software to provide feedback.

Edited out the phone number since they aren't a supporting vendor, hope you understand Click here to enlarge

It's a European flash, but like PAW, it is only available as a bench flash.

They are like 15 minutes from my house but are a small shop and I'm pretty damn sure this isn't their tune just resellers probably. Never heard a bad word about them though but I thought they only did Dinan mods and service cars.

    *UPDATE:
Looks like they are stating on E90, that the flash will work on any N55 platform except for the 7 series (740), due to the fact that it uses an MSD87 control unit. It modifies only certain aspects of the BMW software:

    Quote:
"It is NOT a shadow program, it is factory BMW based software, shows up on the ISIS and GT1 as BMW software. It does NOT tamper with any emission components."

They also claim they can modify the flash to accommodate any other mods one might have, ie DP, IC, Intake, etc.

Sounds legit, but then again, so did "if the glove don't fit, acquit"

I don't doubt their claims of it now showing up on the BMW diagnostic software and their claim for the 740 makes sense.

We just haven't seen any of these tunes in action or anywhere beyond a couple forum posts.

That is correct but they likely still can't tune it due to the ECU.

Right, but why are making excuses about it? it's not even N55.

if you ask me stay away from them.

^ I have no plans on going to them, I'm sticking with my JB3 Stg 1... Personally a flash is too much of a hassle (unless is was a handheld flasher like Cobb). To have to take out the ECU everytime it would need to get flashed... No thanks. I'm just informing people that there are options out there, but if they are good or not, IDK, nor am I endorsing them as a 'legit' company. Hopefully someone tries them and can either validate or deny their claims, until then it's all speculation
