    LC FAIL AS USUAL

Since I've gotten the car and over 5 attempts Ive only had LC work once successfully. Usually I experience wheel hop and the car cuts power (even with the pedal floored the car wont accelerate). Heres a video of the car with a non LC street launch:

And heres the video of the failed LC:

At the track the LC makes it spin way too much and im a sitting duck, and on the street the wheel hop is ridiculous...... Click here to enlarge

i never liked LC mode in any BMW's, it's all about wheel spin.

but i have a 335i with DCT, with the right tires it's actually quicker than non LC launch, maybe it's because E93 has more weight on back.

Yeah, M3 launch control is a little more tricky.

I have used the 335is launch control, flawless every time.

LOL! Youyr really trying to practice that stuff huh! Just get some DR's and call it a day man, dont half-ass it, if you want traction for a dedicated event/day, get dedicted tires.. youll always wonder how much better you could have done..

and, I put about 1500miles on my MT ET's in the rear and they hold up just fine, just dont push it in turns, and careful in the wet.. not advised, but certainly possible..

The M3 launch control is really tricky. It is basically pointless on the street. Say you get to a red light. Then you need to turn traction control off, get into S6, put the stick up, wait for the flag, get the revs up, etc. By the time all this happens the light has gone green, your opponent is gone, and when you launch your car goes sideways across the intersection.

Porsche launch control and Nissan launch control are all much better. The fact you can't keep your foot on the brake to use the DCT launch control is idiotic, I don't get it.

Also, the launch control mode when engaged rolls you slightly forward which is a pain in the ass.

The only place it has served me well is the strip and even then it takes some real practice to get down. With drag radials and a line lock, it's as if the function was made for the drag strip. On the street, it is useless. Better off launching in MDM.

Thats why its so much easier to launch the DCT in the 335is. You actually use the brake in the process. Just have the car in manual and sport mode. You press the DTC button, then hold the brake down, floor it, the let off the brake when you want to launch. I did multiple launches in a 335is the other week, works flawlessly.

That is a logical system. Why the M3's is so botched I have no clue.

did afew launches tonight, actually i found out i'm 0.2 faster to 100 kph with LC (the tires are brand new).

anyway, i agree with Sticky, BMW's LC mode is the stupidest in the whole world, try PDK's LC and you will never use DCT's.
