Web Watch Performance BMW July 2011:

We all love that ever popular formula of combining a blog with a forum, and Bimmerboost is among the best examples of why. Launched in March 2010 after its founder, Joseph Wilk, became frustrated with other sites which were afraid to be too in-depth (which might scare away novice users), BimmerBoost is a true enthusiasts' site with an unashamedly hardcore approach to modified BMWs. If you don't know your N54 from your S65 then it's perhaps not for you, but if you're anything like us, the blog and forum are brilliant sources of both information and inspiration.

The site incorporates everything - from highly-detailed product reviews to cool photos and videos from around the world, to fitting guides and nerd-friendly build diaries - so whatever you're into, you'll be well catered for at BimmerBoost.

One of our favourite projects on the site is member Joseph's (username 'Sticky') E92 M3, which is the world's first DCT rebuild - the unit being built for extra strength and huge torque capability, ensuring that Joseph will be able to use his 'charged steed to do constant flat-out quarter-miles for years to come. Just take a look at the blog and you'll soon come across images of his freshly-machined sexy billet oil pan, for example.

It's also well worth taking a look at some of the other build threads, our favourites including an S52-engined E30 M3 turbo and a rather tidy Alpine white E92 M3 on anthracite-centred BBS LMs with Vorsteiner styling.

BimmerBoost is refreshingly proactive in the way it goes about doing things. At the moment, for example, it's inviting a variety of tuners to prove their claims on a third party dyno with the E92 M3. Nothing screams 'Performance BMW' more than BimmerBoost's concept, so it gets a big thumbs-up from us. It may only be 18 months old, but we can see this site soon becoming a big name for the US and worldwide scenes alike - recommended? You bet.
