Yeah but 10 temp is very cold. You can see how little porcelain is exposed. I think stock temp on S54 is an 8? I'd run a 9. You'd prob have a lot better results though honestly your AFRs seem bad.

    Yep yours sounds ideal.

I wouldn't be suprised if I was in the 10's during WOT.. But I know my idle is more in the 12s.

I'd like confirmation that a 9 is acceptable.. or that others are running NGK Racing R2525-10's without issues and therefor its a tune, etc..

Could even potentially be weak ignition related to something else?

Took my car out and drove it around and made a gopro video. It turned out like crap though and you can't really see anything. I can confirm though that my car is running pretty damn fat. Cruising part throttle is in the 11-12 range which to me seems a bit rich.

Here is a clip of it showing my misfire issue I have. After Monday though I won't need to worry about it as I'm going ProEFI.

Video's private Chad. But I'm 100% confident you're having the same issues as me. Takes you 20 minutes tops to pull the plug from the front cyclinder.. I'm willing to bet that you're running the same NGK's as me, and they look identical. If they do.. theres your problem.. and mine..

Btw, you have a truck and trailer, so getting your car to Jason at ProEFI is pretty straight forward.. me I'd have to drive it .. i'm not confident driving it that long again while its running so rich.

Why do you always take the most negative stance and suggest the worst scenario when it involves HPF?

    Doesn't seem. IS rich.

Car should idle 14.0 - 14.7:1 and cruise at 14.5 - 14.7:1 with some wander up and down as closed loop does its thing. I've no problem idling 1000 cc injectors at 14.2:1

Knowledge can be applied without antagonism.

Let's try and be more positive and helpful about resolving issues with cars, even E36's don't always run perfect.

Here's part of an email from Chris K at HPF when I asked what my gauges should be reading. I'm a Stg 2.5:

Idle vac should be 16-20 depending on temp, if ac is on and if the car is warmed up. The afrs are going to be around the 13.x-14.x at idle

While cruising the vac will always be changing due to load and throttle but the afrs while cruising at a constant rate should be in the 13-14.x area

While wot with no meth should be 10.8- 11.5 boost 15-17lbs

While wot with meth should be 10.8- 11.x boost 21-25lbs

That is very surprising that he says the car idles within 1 full AFR point, and it seems a bit richer than stoich. What size injectors does a 2.5 have? No issues controlling 1,000 cc/min to 14.2 - 14.5. Hrm.

    Well, 13.x - 14.x is potentially 1.9 AFR points.

    Stage 2.5 uses 750cc injectors.

True - i figured they'd have better PID control over their closed loop action.

    Does 2.75 as well?

So 3 and up are 1200cc?
