I can see how you might take this thing too seriously but once it involves a glowing syringe, you're dealing with forces that are not to be reckoned with.

    What are your specs?

I don't think it will be too tough to destroy the standings. I have seen what some of the desktops out there are doing, numbers over 40k!

I have an old i7 2.8ghz OCd to 3.8ghz on a massive Noctua DH-14 heatsink w/120mm & 140mm fans. Powercoloer PCS+ Radeon 5870 OCd (dont remember the numbers) and OCZ 6GB DDR3 1600 PC3 12800 (wanna upgrade to 16GB since this is so cheap now). I haven't really had the need to upgrade to anything better since most games run really smooth on the highest settings with AA and AF turned on at 1920x1080 reso. Maybe I'll upgrade my vid card at the end of the year, since its getting dated, but not in a hurry since its still a dx11 card.

I used to be so into this $#@! before, now I barely have time to look into the latest tech. Not like it matters much if you are not playing the latest games all the time. I guess times have changed a lot for me, I still kinda try to keep my PC performing better than it could ever perform at stock levels. I just can't seem to stay stock with anything that I own. lol

Yep - 1200 watt power supply running at like 1280 watts of consumption Click here to enlarge I need to get a new one but there's nothing in the 1300 - 1500W area that's decent right now. TT released a 1350W I might look into. I actually had to move a few hard drives out of my desktop and into my server because of power demands when the video cards get going.

You were running Vantage right? Try 3DMark 11 Click here to enlarge That's where the big dogs play. I had a P60,000 score in Vantage but it didn't validate because it couldn't detect the CPU (was at like 4.8GHz glory run).

Cars are cool - but PCs and photography are my other interest.

^^ Had issues keeping the "liquid" liquid in my cooling setup around 4.8 - 5.0GHz. My exchanger would require 100% load on the CPU at 4.8 - 5.0GHz worth of heat in order to keep from freezing in the reservoir. As soon as the PC idled for more than a minute, the above picture is what would happen.

I feel 3dMark11 will be too taxing for the majority of systems people run on the site which will alienate most from running benchmarks if they get 3dMark11 to run at all.

No reason we can't have standings for both and remember I'm playing with a notebook here, not a desktop. Run Vantage on your notebooks and let's see what you get Click here to enlarge

Heh, I understand your power supply woes. I had a peltier cooled athlon FX setup back in the day and the power demands were heavy. Kept going through power supplies...
