Did you make any pictures of the trimming? Or the finished look? There are two theories to arguing with women. Neither one works

One of my buddies took a few pics, I'll have to pester him to send me the files... the trimming was substantial, and I'm not sure if it's a 1 series vs. 3 series thing, but I spent most of my time cutting, finding out that I need to cut more, cutting, finding out I still had more to cut, x 3. From the HPF installation video it seems like the 3's require alot less trimming.
There's a decent pic on 1addicts of what needs to be trimmed for 1er fitment... http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...78&postcount=6, but even after studying this pic before I started trimming... I was still way off.
I used some super sharp garden shears and a dremel with cut off-wheel to do the trimming and my garage floor was littered with sharp little bits and pieces of black plastic by the end of it!

I just installed a ER intercooler on Saturday and would agree that there was a fair amount of trimming involved. The trimming wasn't really that difficult and shouldn't be a deterrent to anyone buying a particular FMIC, the small spaces you have to work (tighten clamps) are the biggest pain. The ER is really a nice FMIC, pricey, but I was impatient and they were the only ones that had one in stock ready to ship. (I'm heading to the track next week.)
I did a few pulls yesterday (90 degrees and very humid) and kept the IAT's under 100. The core on this unit looks amazing.
