That is a bit hypocritical and ironic on his part.

Well, he is HPF fanboy numero uno right? So let's see how this is resolved and what the issue was.

I lost his cell number like a retart and he hasn't answered my recent PM. My body guy will be here tomorrow for sure. Then it's off to VAC. Once I know exact parts are needed I'm going to call HPF along with some others who offered help. Try and save a buck. Then it's on!!!

I'd say by June I'll be ready for whatever.

600rwhp cars that get beat on. Stuff happens. I've seen alot of blown motors and broken parts while hanging out with my dad and his 69 chevelle ss 396 and his friends that drag race like I breath air. Something breaks they fix.

The BMW community has to be the worse. Not everythng can be covered by the kit maker. Some stuff yes. Customer suppost always. Bunch of babies. Gotta pay to play.

Hpf haters love when something breaks. Usual suspects here. All I got to say to haters is I hope your car blows up. If you never break anything you ain't drivng hard enough.

Plus 1 is ur's fixed? The person who's car failed is a snobby cock eater. Who makes all HPF owners look bad.

Some people seem to think a FI warrenty from any company means new car warrenty(don't pay for anything). I'm excited to see your car and new setup GG(was not impressed at all by aimals car) and the e90 AA car he's local to me. Good times ahead for the summer. Lots of nice modded cars local.

I've seen gnarly muscle cars go thru engines like I smoke cigs. That's my dads thing. He's slacked on chevelle. Can't wait till it's mine. Orginal too. Dad had since new just needs some love. If t wasn't orginal I'd love to drop some kind of a TT LS engine in it. Along with all modern
    suspension. OT sorry.

    BattaM3,

I've had to deal with the hood stuck closed before....ended up being a zip tie wasn't tight enough to hold the cable release jacket, so it moved instead of the wire inside.

Wasn't nearly as tough as I thought it would be to open up though. Basically, just undid the 4 little trim fasteners in each wheel well, the fasteners on the bottom of the bumper cover, then the 2 X T50 torx holding the bumper on, and I had easy access to the hood releases.

If I was local, I would have offered to fix that for you for free....well...maybe for a ride in the car. Click here to enlarge

I would have helped you out Batta but I've been stuck at work until like 6:30 - 7 at night and then I pass out at 9PM lol.

    Did you fix it?

No one expects HPF to replace stuff, the problem people have (or at least I have) is how Chris advertises his kit as perfect, no issues ever, best engineered, top quality, etc., etc., and then they make all those posts on the forums about peoples who had issues and HPF did this and that to fix it and such... then a guy who isn't an HPF billboard has an issue and its like "Oh well you blew your motor up... sucks to hear." We all know that making 2 - 3 times the power the engine was designed for will lead to breaking. Its the hit or miss support that is weird. Also, the "transparency" that Chris claims is good, but then a car is hurt at the track and he tells her not to say anything... lol

    I would do the same.

It's really easy to say the wrong thing, or be taken out of context, when "guessing" at the cause of a failure.

I don't see Chris' response as a "gag order".....however I would be a little embarrassed in front of so many potential customers to have my product malfunction, so it's understandable that he responded as he did.

Sure but if my car lets go on a dyno or something you won't catch me saying "yo don't say anything". Hey why is that car spewing white smoke and sounding like a diesel? "Huh, what, no idea what you're talking about look over there" <dials flat bed>.

Derek says "I should have replaced that tired fuel pump long ago". What tires fuel pump? HPF cars need fuel pumps replaced every 60k? Porsches have no issue running 044's for 100k miles+. Oh right, they chose cheap ass walbros.

I think it is as simple as him playing off the failure as, oh, had a lot of miles was bound to happen, yadda yadda yadda.

I don't think 60k miles is unreasonable for a built motor.

Dont that have a failsafe that would kill boost when fuel pressure goes down or motor leans out.....Wait they have a siren. Did the siren go off ?

Supposedly it had the old "quieter" knock siren, but when you toss the keys to a soft-core porn star at the drag strip, sh*t can happen.

No idea, don't think we have too many details on the cause of this failure.
