Traded in my E90 for an E88

Ok, so the story goes like this...

My E90 335i had 71K miles on it. A couple weeks ago it was in for service and the dealer gave me a Z4 loaner (N52). I had it for a week and had the top down the entire time. It was the first time I had a convertible for any period of time. I realized I needed a vert, but I didn't want something that small...and I didn't want another 3-series. I decided on an E88 135i. Picked her up from DFW today.

Inserted your attachments inline so they resize.

    Beautiful car, congrats.

    Any plans for mods?

No plans for mods really. I bought it, because I wanted a vert. I have a JB+, but I don't know how to install it on the 135i. The reason I got it for the 335i was because I could literally remove it in 2 minutes before a dealer visit. It seems the engine bay on this car is more crowded and there's no access to the TMAP sensor by hand.

I don't think you can install the JB+ from the N54 on this car.

I found out why the convertible is 300 pounds heavier than the coupe.

This biggest battery I have ever seen...

Your car has a normal battery, unless you replaced it with this monster. This thing is larger than marine batteries.

    The batteries are the same.

Beautiful car though, and get a JB4, do yourself a favor...

I promise you, this battery is larger than the battery in my 335i. The convertible top motor requires more power to operate it.

    Thank you.

The Battery is the same 90Ah 720ca/720cca battery that comes in the 335i with the upgraded electrical package. It might be part of the sport package, but my car has the same one. My question though is how much does the convertible 135 weigh compared to the 335i convertible? I've been told that it's within 100 pounds, but I don't see how. The car does look sharp! Just in time for spring/summer

I had an e90 335i and the battery was surely smaller than the one in the 135i convertible.

The 335i vert is about 350 lbs. heavier than the 135i vert.

350lbs is pretty significant. That with the short wheel base must make it tons-o-fun!

It's definitely more fun to drive. I don't know if I'm going to put tuning on it, because I can't just pull it out really quickly like I could the JB+ on the 335i.

I'm assuming there is more back-pressure in the exhaust system, due to the fact that there's only one exhaust pipe running the length of the chassis compared to 2 on the 335i.

    Nice car! Congrats..
    Brand new with zero milage?
Then I would wait to put in a tune untill you fully brake in the engine.
    Give it 1500 miles.
    Put in a JB4.
It's real easy to put in or remove if need be.
All you need is a dry working area (outside no rain or inside) and an hour tops.
    And order a LSD today!

The cobb tuner looks like a pretty easy install. I can't imagine anything cleaner than that! that is if they have their poop in a group and offer it for your car.

The only thing that is not appearance related with M-Sport package is an increased top speed limiter.

It's not a 1M. It's just the M-Sport package. It's pretty much an appearance package.
