Congrats Tony! It does sound pretty mean. I can hear the turbine spinning down through the exhaust. Nice!
It seems like this N55 upgrade came together pretty quickly overall. Perhaps a little...

Can't get a TCU in bimmerboost's hands for the right party to look at? There's gotta be some blown trannies out there, just unbolt the TCU and send it in for the good of all or ask a few bucks for it...
N55: !!! Soooo close...

The pleasure is mine.
Now for some cockpit vids from that M3... The p-car was nice but I want to hear that S65 sing!

Sick numbers give what was run. Congrats man!
I can't wait to see what some of you ST guys can pull off with different approaches from you-know-who.

I'd be interested to know if anyone ever had their "bad" injectors sent out to have professionally tested and/or cleaned.
I'd be wary of pulling the motor until the car was at least borescoped or checked out a little further.
You can get a cheap borescope for a laptop for as low as $40-$60...

Here ya go.
Completed file attached as zip. Attaching as gif kept zapping size down to 7k std gif. Not sure how to get that working on the board by itself. Doesn't seem to work as inserted image...

Damn, that's some drivin on your part regardless.
I've never tracked a car but that looks like a ton of fun!
By the sound of it, the starter is pushing forward its small gear onto the engine flexplate, but after that, nada.
Given how you say it died during a burnout, I am a little worried it might be...
Effort reduction kit. It's a little cup that sits inside BMW shifter carrier. It raises the pivot point/fulcrum of the shifter say 3/4" to correct the geometry of UUC pole. This is necessary because...
IMHO, you have to move the fulcrum/pivot point up as UUC has done, otherwise you're going to get an increase in shift effort as the throw decreases. UUC calls their new adjustable cup the "Efffort...
This was my experience, sort of. When I put in my UUC SSK, my 08 had less than 5k miles on it IIRC.
I looked closely at the stock external selector rod that connects the bottom of the shifter to...
I had the UUC on my 08 335xi. Very nice part. Pricey but the best IMO. With the adjustable pivot cup you can get a short shift without the increased effort.
The shifter will help with throw and...
Lol that assumes happy customers with the FFTEC not selling theirs used...

Not sure about people taking issue with it vs saying some parts (rods, pistons, injectors, coils, valvetronic) on it are either similar or evolutionary from the N54/N55 and some parts from the S55...

Agreed re the weight and engine design. It's a real M engine. No BS.
Purists always raise an eyebrow when the next gen comes out but it's lookin good so far.
Side note: I hate the 4 series...

The rods are likely "powdered metal forged" (most modern engines)- where they combine metal powder and adjuncts together, compress it in a mold, sinter (heat) it and then perform some machining steps...
I got 50c on it as being a turbo problem. That sounds more and more like an exhaust leak. Buy a cheap telescoping inspection mirror from pep boys or auto zone and see if you can eyeball anything from...
sound on phone vid can be deceptive but it seems like you might just have a turbo problem.
I think this because oil is coming out exhaust and it sounds like you have an exhaust leak when you give...
Manual transmission? Wondering about the failure as someone on the other site had a problem and blamed it on meth flooding the engine at high rpm (unlikely IMO).
In any case, if you just need a...
It's been about 2 years since I returned my 08 335xi but the only thing the UUC really did was shorten up the throw a bit without increasing shift effort.
I tried one of the other BMW OEM shifter...
What are the basics of what is needed to get a test bench setup working to attempt some of this?
I would presume:
1) Mechatronics units from a 6HP series transmission
2) Basic wiring harness
