I don't know that seems a bit excessive to me. If it were a track car then sure but for a daily driver I feel like it would be a waste

Lol yeah I guess I set my self up for that one. Any way yeah I looked at the dyno numbers and it makes more sense now

No... But I did actually read the thread this time lol
on a side note I think the fact that my phone autocorrected add to ass says a lot.
03-12-2014, 12:40 AM
It's a 90hp difference you would think it would close the gap a little faster than that... Also I meant add in my last comment damn autocorrect

Something doesn't ass up. How can it have almost 100 more hp and not manage to walk away? Yeah yeah yeah dct super quick shifts. There's no way it can make up for a hp deficit that big, but if so I'm...
What's the average cost for a vanos rebuild

IMHO that's the perfect engine swap for that car

I see where hes coming from and I agree to a point but the e39 m5 isnt more m than the e46 m3...
03-11-2014, 04:11 PM
I think the line is somewhere between the e36 and e46 m3.
03-11-2014, 04:08 PM
I think the s85 in the e60 puts them on equal levels of "M"
on a side note I literally LOL'd that we are debating on which cars are more "M" than others... I mean only real enthusiast would have...

I agree with everything your saying, but I don't see how the e39 m5 isn't in the same category of "M" as the e46 m3 and so on... Im not trying to sound like a fan boy but IMO the e46 m3 is more"M"...
03-11-2014, 03:52 PM
e39 m5?!? how is that car more "M" than the e46 m3, e60 m5, or the e20something m5
03-11-2014, 03:44 PM
I think its safe to say the m2 even with comperable options will come in significantly cheaper than the 3/4
03-11-2014, 03:30 PM
Even if they went with a 4banger I still feel like it would have an impact on the m3/4 sales... at least from the enthusiast market. One of the appeals of the m3 has been a track inspired car that is...
03-11-2014, 02:57 PM
This would be a bad move for BMW IMHO, this would eat into the m3/4 sales.

Sounds like one of those e36's had a s54 swap
Get it tuned by evolve. If you go with a light weight flywheel I would also consider raising your rpm at idle.

Funny you said that because I got that kind of vibe. This car has been so hyped up and has so much to live up to.
Personally I have mixed feelings. On one hand, I hate it cause it's getting away...

This is so wrong... but its soooooo right
this thing will be a monster thats for sure
Haha well yeah I would probably go back to the muffler delete. Honestly I don't think cutting the resonator will be enough for any significant change in sound
Edit* I don't know if you have a tune...
Im not an expert on the n55, but I have done a lot of research on the s54 platform for my exhaust set up.
resonator- I would not remove them because they help control the droning exhaust sounds that...

IMO active has the most visually appealing kit out there for the e9x platform.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words so I'll just leave it at this
