My problem has not appeared since that day. Everything goes smoothly, I do hear the thump when selecting reverse but I think it's normal. I will postpone any checks until the spring.

I think I will bleed the clutch first, to see what happens.
You described the noise perfectly, but to me it sounds like the driveshaft moving and trying to spin the diff, then stops because...

Yes, aftermarket LSD (Drexler) and M3 subframe bushings.

6MT 335i N54 here.
Today something new happened with my car: when I tried to put it in reverse when parking (drove normally all day, did not push the car), it was difficult to select the...

N54 owner here.
My spring project is to be nice to environment and mount some HJS 200-cell cats. I am looking to find some extension cables (or at the very least the sockets) for the...

It just doesn't matter whether it is V8 or a six-cylinder if they have the same capacity.
And when they say "it's the most...in it's class" this is just marketing, because in a "class" they can...

Not sure where you got this from, did the Engine of The Year award fool you ? :)
Porsche 911 Turbo: 3.8l twin-turbo, 230g/km CO2, average fuel consumption 9.7l/100km
McLaren MP4-12C: 3.8l...

Overall, a great car, with so many improvements over the standard car and engine. Its power to weight ratio is equal or better than the current M5, so it should be very fast. I think it should be...

Of course it is, if you want your car to consume less fuel. There is a huge difference in fuel consumption between port injection and direct injection. Direct injection is the reason why a 335i can...
I don't feel the need to defend BMW. Let them improve their build quality, customer support and customer satisfaction, there's always room for improvement :))

Maybe you should put this quote on all your announcements about the open source flashing solution :)
I really don't think you understood anything from my posts. I said that I do have Cobb (so I...

The JB/Procede had their role in the market because flashing was either not available or not convenient. The engine should be controlled by the ECU if at all possible. Piggybacks are vastly inferior...

This really is not a good approach to tackle this problem.
PS: I do have Cobb and I like it. But I am interested in the Open Source stuff for Android/iOS portability reasons.

The BT cable really needs the ability to log all cylinders. With only cylinder 1, there is no way to do solid tuning maps.
Plus I'm not sure it has all the Cobb parameters which are really needed,...

Great news ! :)

I know as a developer that it's not easy at all to let go of your work for free, but if the authors would release at least the read/write source code portion of the software, great things could...
08-15-2013, 04:47 PM
Will the source code ever be released ? I am interested to port the flash read / flash write part on Android if I have some free time in the coming weeks.

No, 18psi is not high, because it's the engine speed that matters. Here are some calculations that I have done using the stock turbo compressor maps, using the equations from the Garret turbo guides....

It's incredible. I don't believe these results. BMW created a monster engine. Now they have to create a lighter car to match that power, otherwise it's just wasted.

Josh@Cobb just said he also modified other tables that are not available in ATR/ATP, so it's not just the failsafe timing table. Now I'm really anxious to try the map :)
07-12-2013, 04:36 PM
Not yet, but Josh@Cobb sent me a map with the Timing (Fail Safe) table being more or less identical to the Timing (Main) table. So he probably thinks the ECU enters a failsafe mode. I will have to...
That Mustang does read very high if that is the wheel power and not the engine power. I got 1mph lower trap speed in a recent 1/4 mile and my Mustang reads 382whp (250whp stock). I actually think...

I just realized that you can set the torque in the throttle maps ! So the circle could be complete: Press the accelerator, request a certain torque via the throttle maps, the the ECU looks up the...
