Was the Turbo on regular road tires?
leave the injectors where they are.
straight stack trumpes gain a bit top end power.

There is no damaged rod bearing.
Which is good as I can salvage the crank for another S65 I have.

Seems like fuel injector stuck open caused the failure.Rod bearing on cyl3 is ok.
500bhp+ is possible with the S62 with following modifications:
-ported heads,stock valve size
-modified throttle bodies
-Schrick cams(re-grinding stock cams to this spec will reduce base...
Who builds the engine?
Better do it,those bearing clearances and axial play and a heavy weight oil like TWfeckingS do not go well together...
My guess would be rod bearing...
Will tear it down when I have some time,but at the moment too busy building a turbo S50,changing bearings and installing Evolve headers on an S85 plus finishing this...
110k km,bone stock,cracked block and bent valves.
Replacement engine was the only reasonable solution...

Alex,good call on the cam timing.
Easy to do anyway when you do valve play.
Is off on almost every S54.

I do not know that much about the M54,other than the few Vanos rebuilds and the rebuild on my wife's M54B30 I did...

Almost every n/a race car runs Alpha-N.
Alpha-N is just a calculation of the airflow(instead of measuring it via MAF) using throttle position(Alpha) against engine RPM(N).
The CSL runs Alpha-N...

Even the license plate installation is a fail on this one.
Front and rear plate are mixed up.The two sticker plate belongs back,not front..:laughing-rofl:
