I don't know if it will necessarily be cheaper. Its similar drivetrain, battery, etc. And with the falcon doors and third row seats, no any easier to build than the S.

Supposedly the X version will do 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds. Still pretty decent for a SAV.

Wow...its not like they don't know what kind of transmission it has. They underlined "dual clutch." They indicated the car was manually shifted.
And they just picked the closest description. ..its...

I figured the M3 would be much quicker, but after just doing a quick search, if found according to this video, it is not:
And Motor Trend: Yes I...

I already stated the i8 trapped 5mph slower, yet the M4 was only .20 seconds quicker in THIS test. Indicating the i8 launches better in normal driving conditions. (Your average stop light encounter)....

And if you doubt what I am saying, just look at the Motor Trend Worlds Greatest Drag Race...The i8 takes the M4 off the line. In fact, it looks like the i8 was in the top 3-4 of the quickest cars in...

Car and Driver said the 3.7 second M4 run was with a warm up burnout, and the fastest of any M4 sample they had tested by a good .20 seconds.
So if your at an intersection, without your burnout,...

Dec 8th, 2014 Motor Trend test puts the M4 at 4.0 seconds. I would say the M4 will not beat the i8 in the stop light Grand prix up to 60mph or so that you would max out on the city. And again, not...

I did read. That's why I said stop light grand prix, not prepared drag strip with drag radials. The i8 will take the average M4 in Street trim across the intersection. Motor trend, etc have...

So in the stop light GrandPrix, a i8 should handily beat the M4.

Pretty nice looking display

You are correct, the complimentary engine changes would be a given with probability of a different block, etc. Exact same engine philosophy as the S55 just on a different scale. But I figured...

I was saying the M4 did well considering it's displacement disadvantage. And if it's motor was closer in size (3.8L), still running the same boost psi and red line, it would have taken This M3 in...

Why do you keep stating the obvious. I have said in numerous times now, without increasing the RPM, Static Compression, or Boost Pressure, a bigger displacement engine would make significantly more...

Its for the same reasoning. I can't tell if you have reading comprehension problem, or just don't understand simple simple concepts. Sorry about your difficulties.
11-02-2014, 08:43 PM
Wow, I didn't think I would have to go into the details of reality to make you understand such a simple concept. I said, same boost, and same redline, a higher displacement (3.8 vs 3.0L) should be...
11-02-2014, 11:34 AM
With equal redline, and boost, a proportionately equipped engine based on the S55 (yes, bigger Pistons, injectors, turbos, valves, etc that would be included in a regular factory displacement...

You are not worth arguing with, because you probably don't know much about engines.
But yes Sticky, I was hoping I didn't have to explain every aspect or condition of the displacement ...
11-02-2014, 12:23 AM
Wow, that's pretty amazing!
11-02-2014, 12:02 AM
You seem to be the one that needs a grasp on reality. I am not about to go into the details about engine design etc. I'm willing to bet I know more about engine design than you. It's so simple what...

I absolutely agree with you. The M4 was the more impressive performing vehicle in this race given its significantly smaller displacement. Others are diehard S65 groupies, reveling when they see...
11-01-2014, 08:28 PM
I don't even need to go into needless details. If you knew anything about engine dynamics you should know the influence of increased displacement in FI engines. Displacement is one of the most...
11-01-2014, 06:57 PM
How about this to clarify for you. Let's just say we made the S65 in that M3 a three liter without changing anything else. Then made
the S55 a four liter. Same boost pressures as used in this race...
11-01-2014, 06:47 PM
Absolutely not my way of thinking. Just there are plenty of six cylinder engines in the 3.8l range. From imports to domestics.
Maybe I should have listed them all? That displacement can yield some...

I think around 3.8 liters is fine. Close to the GTRs and some of the GT3s.
