Same for me ... 50k Km's+ on my RB's.. playing hard, no issues sofar.

I have exactly the same, after cold start, some stop and start traffic and my gas car turns in a oil burning diesel engine, when continuing towards the highway the smoking stops. It's there but hard...
Encryption... Key is a drama to break. See other topics. And the 26 is indeed not the 21 and sofar i''m not aware that anyone swapped 26 parts into a 21.
Alpina FW is already encrypted and can be...
Your engine will not run rough from a blown turbo. I bet you have some leaking injector. Will give a witish/blue fume and smells very plastic/oil/spicey...
Open source still does require the key to be hacked....
I have documented the theoretical approach already within this thread:
- Decrypt key
- Manipulate boatloader to allow custom code /...
The TCU firmware has not been cracked, it's a software stack of both ZF AND BMW in our case. Crazy hard encryption, almost impossible to break without significant computerpower and appropriate...
Indeed, with all respect for your WHP target, no LPFP upgrade is required, neither an upgraded clutchpack. I would invest in trans cooling, biggest problem is your ATF might become overheated,...

Why not use the WinKPF/Tool32/Inpa suite?

335 FBO>> M3 period... this discussion was already closed in 2009....

No 100% but it is a long one, do not pin me on it, but I thought that I read somewhere that were are dealing with a 1024 bit key.

But that PKK Rad is used for 340Whp, not for the 500WHP we intend to bang against our AT's.... :-)
Gearbox is always a bit behind/below the engine temps compared, but can and will also fluctuate...

Actualy it all come backs to temps... Temps is the biggest issue, caused by a couple of factors:
- Cooling capacity of the box
- Materials used by ZF
- Type of ATF used
- Incorrect DME feeds...

Lol, but as mentioned, this was my plan, my e92 with AT is not longer on this planet and my new one has a DCT. Actually the same counts for the DCT more or less. TCU access is required to perform a...

Full control of the TCU in such way that we can adjust the software, pressure, adaption towards the improved mechanical parts.
The issue with hardening an AT in a proper way is to maintain balance...

Did he modify the TCU or the ECU settings regarding the rpm's?
The talk in the town is that the encryption key is still not decrypted, required to start modifying the TCU firmware. This is holding...

To be honest, the Alpina TCU software is ok, but not the game changer we need. It just changes the "box" shift points and behavior and maybe some aspect around shifting. But not the "now I will not...

The platform is the so called asam platform (www.asam.net) http://www.asam.net/fileadmin/Logos__Brochures__Presentations/Brochures/asam_solutions_guide_2013.pdf
The security check regarding the...

Your trans will not hold. 450+tq will burn your gears due to slip. As long as we do not have control of the tcu, AT upgrades will not work as we hope they do. We need upped pressure, adjusted...
In my case it seems to be a faulty injector on cyl 4. Does not explain the high oil usage of the engine. 1/5 liter in 1000km (which is high to my opinion, I know N54 eg... but still)
It mostly starts after coming to a stop, V=0, and the car stops smoking when it is moving again.
That is also my thought, PCV, white light blueish smoke, now and then like a bad running old diesel but no black smoke, only white blueish with a strange kind "spicey" smell. Car run's top.. perfect...
Yes, FBO +RB's.
Ok.. clear... the idea behind this was that in my case the smoke is only popping up when:
- Engine is not complete heated up
- After and during stop and start traffic (a lot of short braking)
I'm dealing with a similar issue. Somebody suggested that it could be vacuum related and might be brakefluid pushed into the engine by the brake vacuum system?
What do you think about this idea?...
