Good thought, depending the weight penalty. Interestingly BMW tech specs quote "300HP engine and 55HP electric motor for a total system output of 335HP" so eco-only ATM.
My 50 cents is on the...

Good to know the actual name of the coating the Germans are using. Thanks!
Very cool tech and interesting that it's in widespread use now.

Crevice volumes drive emissions and smaller bores = less crevices = less emissions to clean up. So it's not going to change anytime soon IMO.
But bore vs stroke doesn't amount to anything re power...

The intake ports aren't necked down, it's just the way they chose to cut and cross section the head to show it off. They are fairly standard ports.
The hottest part of the bore is the top...

The gasoline engine turbo pictures are twin-scroll only with no variable geometry turbine. The diesel is single scroll with VG turbine.
The pix aren't labelled so it's hard to tell but just look...

That stock wheel in the machined S63 housing is telling...looks like +8 to +10mm unless my eyes deceive me. Yeesh. That's gonna be some serious power if the tune can handle the boost.

MT reported the 435i cab at 4077lbs and S5 at 4310 = tank. The 435i X drive as got to be about the same as the S5 cab. E400 was harder to track down but I did once claim of 4068lbs.
My 2014 S5...

Nice work PTF!
I love how the manifold was done, the kit looks great! Pricing isn't bad either.
Good luck with the sales of it!
What exactly is this. I get that somehow you are rigging up two HPFPs (which is awesome BTW) but are you making one HPFP into an engine accessory using the stock serp belt? Any pix of this on a mock...
I'm no VAG expert but picked up a vagcom cable and software for $350.
The word is the ebay cables sometimes work, but often for only older versions of the software if at all.
The BMW hardware...

I haven't tracked my S5 yet but driving into corners it's a little counter-intuitive vs RWD: With the center crown gear and electric-actuated LSD, it is pretty sophisticated and you actually have to...

Not that I know what I'm doing either, but I found this lists the "Bosch GS19 Gearbox" (TCU) as a flashable component: http://www.evc.de/en/product/spiwizard/parts.asp
This device also says it can...
So much for the "go easy for 500 miles" break in period!

I have zero experience with all of this 3.0T VAG stuff other than owning a stock S5 with nice aftermarket wheels and RS5 grill but from what I've seen on the Audi forums, this doesn't seem to be the...

I never heard of EVOMS but their website showed a bench flash for the 3.0T. GIAC has a handheld map switcher but that just changes maps AFAIK and you need their flash code on the ECU for it to work....
04-05-2014, 07:33 PM
Yeah, the 3.0T (and almost certainly others) has had problems for years with people just not understanding that if you flash it and bring it in for service, it gets hooked up to a diagnostic computer...

Great work Terry! Your dedication always impresses and your results prove that hard work is the way sh!t gets done!

It's gonna be ugly when the new Z06 shows up with pulley and ECU mods. Yikes.

Time to kickstarter a TCU hack project.

I'm happy for you that you found someone who lives up to their promises! It looks like everybody wins in this round. :eusa-clap:
This progress is well worth sharing and it's cool John is into it...

Wow, it's almost like you're paying them or something! :awesome:

Probably not really worth it unless non-stock frame turbo. If you're going all-out, yeah. I'd be interested in seeing how much you picked up on the cam side vs the head with turbos that could do...

The leakdown is much more valuable than a compression test IMO. It's just as sensitive as compression test and you'll know where the air is going which will tell you where the problem is. Compression...

That plug looks like it's getting either light oil contamination (most likely), too much fuel or fuel is hitting it directly from a bad injector spray pattern. Was it significantly different than the...
