Crank and Rods are forged. Rods are very beefy for stock rods. Pistons will give up before any other parts....I Know from experience.

A couple questions:
1. you mention that the pistons are forged. Are you sure about that? I don't think they are by inspecting them. You might have a better trained...
I think there is one FFTEC single that has been testing e85. Not completely sure though. Others can't really run it until Shiv releases some tune for it.

Just checked some papers and it's more like $4000. But that also includes extra coatings and options.
VAC website - piston kit starts at $1050 plus $360 for coatings, $325 for anodized rings,...

Add the $5k for the rods and pistons and you're at $11k.
What would you charge to drop the engine and put it back in? Just curious how many hours you would consider it.

It's going to be tough to get a price because there are only a handful of built N54s.
Plan on $12k-15k for cost of pistons/rod, drop engine, disassembly, machine work, assembly of new...

Pistons will be the first to go. Rods on this car are very robust.
