Whats going on with the law suit anyway?

Have you seen the C63 brake pads (Performance Pack in my case). The front pads have these twin round weights at either end. The rear have a square set of weights on each end.
How do you find the engine number?
Someone posted on MB Forums re head bolts issue
"Engines affected are M156 up to engine # 569xx 60 060658"

I couldn't even read them there.

Where can I get a hold of these?

Anyone get these yet?
It's the load recommendations for this car/tires, MB wants at least 42 psi.
30 psi on the track will heat those tires too much and trash them quickly.
I know MB recommends tire pressure of 44 & 46 psi but this seems very high compared to most cars.
When the tires get hot this pressure would rise significantly.
For track use, high pressure may...

No mods, the AMG performance pack option will be plenty for me.

I don't think this will ever get to court.
I'm in Canada, so whatever happens in the US won't necessarily apply here.
In any case I doubt this is a broad issue.
My new C63 gets into my...

Someone asked me earlier in this thread where I saw the number of engine failures being brought forward by the law suit.
I ran across it again so I'm posting here.
This in no way represents my...

Settling, even with a small number (hey specially with a small number) of claimants is always preferable than going to open court and making the issues public with bad PR and misunderstandings and...

Probably settling and part of the deal must be to shut up.

Fun reading guys.
Back to the issue at hand. No news on the law suit, these things take time I suppose but it would be good to get some news somehow. Anyone ever get in touch with the law firm?

Most original owners of the C63 will not own this car for more than 3-5 years. For that period you have warantee and available extended warantee from MB.
So far we have "heard" of only a few...

I think it was the other way around.
Originally 0W-40 now MB recommends to 5W-40.
Am I right on this?
Oh and don't forget to flush the LSD after break in period as well.

Very well said!
Mine is on order for February delivery :-)

I doubt MB will let this issue fester if its a real problem.
As you said, if this is a very limited production issue they will fix it rather than have the media report this embarrassment for MB's...

And the bottom line is keeping it's customers happy with the brand.

There are folks that have high miles on the 08 C63 without issues.
This may not be a defect in design but merely an issue of use/abuse or random failures due to defects. I would think that MB...

A good plan is to purchase extended warantee with these cars anyway. They are complex and expensive to repair once the warantee runs out in any case.
In Canada the car comes with a 4 year factory...
