So the turbo arrived. And it's not small.
GTX 4508R. 80mm.
Will use nitrous to get it spooled up on to the transbrake. Maybe a 50 shot for 1 second or a little more.
A fair bit larger...

that dogbox was what got it into the 8's, as it would never have happened on the stock gear ratios.....

when i decide to work on it (may be a few months or longer who knows) i will just put another stock rear diff in. could have been a fluke who knows. thats all it was, stock rear diff...

some small updates to both cars.
put the axles together, popped them in the car (on the wrong sides of course, i dont know this $#@!!) and got the car off the jig to take it to our show/race this...

the street tire (yes this will be regged and licensed) is a Mickey Thompson 315/60-15 (30" tall x 13" wide) drag radial on a 12" wide wheel (this is what i have now)

needed some room for tires. so i stretched the rear wheel arches 4" towards the front. the front end will be stretched completely (hood, fenders, etc ) the same 4".
done all of this myself...

and this is showing the front end being moved 4" or so forward, we will be stretching the carbon fiber hood and front fenders that much to move the wheelbase forward.

started the front stuff. got a goodly amount of room in there for future upgrades.... when i run out of fun with the 1.8T i am thinking to toss in a 40v 4.2L V8 Audi motor with either one HUGE turbo...

Finished off the x-locater and made the drop links for the anti roll bar. So cute they are. It is really nice having a lathe to use. 3/8" rod ends in chromoly tube.
