Sticky created the thread APR releases 2.0 TSI EA888 Gen 3 Stage I engine tune software for the MKVII GTI and the Audi A3 2.0.
" Good news for owners of the new Volkswagen and Audi EA888 2.0 turbo motor. APR has released their tuning software for the engine which covers the 2014 up Audi A3 2.0 and the 2014 on MKVII Volkswagen Golf GTI. The software is flashed through the OBD-II port and has programs for 91 octane, 93 octane, and 100+ octane race gas. APR also bumps the redline up to 7100 rpm from the stock 6800 rpm.

So what are the gains? The baseline on a MKVII GTI is 210 horsepower at the wheels. On 91 octane with the APR tune this rises to 281 horsepower on the wheels. 93 octane boosts power further with the APR tune taking the car to 291 wheel horsepower. The race gas figure is 303 wheel horsepower.

APR did not take the tuned car to the drag strip but did some VBOX performance meter testing. Their 93 octane VBOX trap speed is 97.19 miles per hour. The trap rises to 110 miles per hour with the Stage I tune on 93 octane. This figure will be lower on an actual drag strip as the VBOX tends to read higher.

Dynographs and an acceleration video below. Solid work as always from APR. "

" Great write up, just did this the other day.

Was going to point out the anti-seize but it seems other people already did. Honestly, probably doesn't matter that you used it, especially if you have a digital torque wrench.

I just tightened mine with a normal wrench, I personally don't think torqueing it to exactly 17ft-lbs is extremely important. "

+1 Big mistake on an aluminum engine. You never want to use antiseize BC you risk over torqueing the plugs. In addition, I would only blow out the spark plug holes with the spark plugs still in there to prevent any foreign debris getting into the cylinder. "

i agree

see: rod bearings for the M3 and M5 engines, as in the S54, S62 (even THOSE has issues), S65 and S85 early models. look at how long they delayed the recalls. don't forget VANOS.

see: fuel pumps for the N54. recalled after how many years?

even see: N62 valve stem seals. did they even recall this?

notice how all these issues weren't really that bad if you left the car stock. and this stuff was still kinda bad on stock cars anyways. i'm thinkin they've been conspiring against us lol "

Sure it is, why wouldn't it be? you can search by dynographs only, and it has it's own section on the site. "

Sticky replied to the thread 2015 F-150 Weight and Engine Specs.
" Excellent work here by Ford on the new 2.7 liter Ecoboost V6. Ford announced earlier this year they would invest $500 million in development of the new smaller Ecoboost V6 which will slot in below the 3.5 liter Ecoboost V6 already on the market and available in the current F150 truck.

As stated in a previous article, the 2.7 liter Ecoboost engine is not just a downsized 3.5 Ecoboost as it has many changes:

[LIST] [*]First use of fracture split main-bearing caps, which create a superior fit between the cap and engine block for reduced crankshaft friction to help improve efficiency [*]All-new aluminum cylinder heads feature water-cooled integrated exhaust manifolds [*]Variable displacement oil pump reduces internal engine friction to improve fuel economy [*]Intake and exhaust variable cam timing that improves torque while helping lower emissions [*]Lightweight, durable composite intake manifold "
