leveraged sellout replied to the thread Porsche to start production of 785+ new 991 GT3 3.8 liter direct injected flat-6 motors on April 22nd and will extend the warranty by a year.
" Some great info in this thread, keep it up.

I would tend to agree that many of the S85s having trouble have been treated like shit their whole lives. They don't get warmed up, they get revved to cutoff right from the start, they get idled a lot and then beat immediately after. They get crappy fuel, oil change intervals were inconsistent, all kinds of things. They are very highly tuned engines, and few road engines have ever been so finely balanced. Also, you have to think of your typical M3/M5/M6 buyer...they aren't quite as concerned with the well-being of their cars as say, a Ferrari or Porsche owner. They're younger, probably leasing, and just want something cool to show off in. Totally fine, I don't hold it against them. But they beat the hell out of these things and yes, a few of them succumbed. Makes sense to me. I think BMW could do maybe a bit more to ensure that's it not a systemic problem, but from what I've seen there's not a lot of evidence that it is. A few engines out of tens of thousands is not enough to make a case.

The idea that Ferrari/Lamborghini/any other exotics are trash after 50k miles is just silly and untrue. They're made with a higher degree of precision or accuracy than any other vehicle, doesn't even make sense. There's plenty of 100k mile Lambos, Ferraris, Maseratis, and obviously Porsches that still work great. Hell, there's a guy on FChat who has wellllll over 100k miles on his 599 and it has never broken once. In fact, those as a rule have been pretty damn reliable. But they get maintained and treated like they're made of paper. "

That's a good portion of the VW scene. Very Flashy, who can stand out the most. To their credit they're usually pretty good wheels with hefty price tags.

I hate flying. I might change my mind if I had a private plane. I'd rather have a yacht first though. I mean I'll take both I guess. "

" First off BADASS build, this car will be a beast! Moving on the turbos, I have to agree with you there is never any free lunch. Getting 30R power with less than 28R lag is basically defying the laws of physics. Here are some comparisons of similar sized GTX's and EFR's with all the fancy Gamma ti wheels etc. The results might surprise you. Spoiler alert, the GTX's spool faster. "

If you want to race these 2 cars in a straight line and make a story out of it, then if one costs 3 times as much and is slightly faster than yes its completely relevant. Just like it would be relevant if you took them to a road course and the black destroyed the E63. Price would surely be a factor there too, because now you are paying for a purpose built track car that obviously out performs the E class. So yeah bingo.
lol, you gonna be ok tiger ?
Sounds like your all butt hurt about a roll race event in which you can run anyone with any car.
Maybe next time these guys should talk about money and how much they have in their car before they race ?
lol. Your math = Ricer Math "

Sticky created the thread Maserati likely to produce the Alfieri concept based on strong sales.
" Maserati is increasing volume considerably and generating quite a bit of sales. Due to this upward trend management is leaning toward production of the Alfieri. The production car will no doubt differ from the concept pictured below but this shows significant confidence in the brand.

The Alfieri would likely compete against the Jaguar F-Type and possibly the upcoming Mercedes AMG GT. Maserati does have a 3.8 liter twin turbo V8 at their disposal along with boosted V6's.

A 500+ horsepower V8 would definitely make this car have the muscle under the hood to match its looks which is something the current Gran Turismo can not say. Additionally, with the Gran Turismo getting a bit old now the Alfieri certainly can slide in to take its place.

We will have to wait and see what happens but the outlook is bright for Maserati.

Oh don’t get me started on Kiper. I don’t know the guy personally, but he’s a joke. The butt of so many jokes in scouting departments around the country. He’s a talking head and that’s about it, I could care less what he thinks. The concept of a draft “Grade” is insulting. These kids haven’t played a snap of NFL football, and we’re going to grade them? How can a player be a “reach” if we don’t have access to results? What a joke.

You are absolutely correct it’s a projection, that’s the nature of scouting. It’s why scouts tend to be quite aggressive, and coaches tend to talk us down off the ledge. I want to see upside, coaches want to see production and a high floor. It’s all give and take with limited information, and it’s getting harder and harder with how laughable simple NCAA football is becoming. You have entire conferences where an offensive play is as simple as “4”. No joke. That number tells each individual one thing, but they have ZERO understanding of what others are doing. So you have kids coming out of school now a days who genuinely have never had to learn what the player opposite to them is doing. It’s awful, but collegiate football is a gimmick to begin with.

Rant over….I share your frustration x10000 "
