VargasTurboTech replied to the thread NEW stage 3 update thread. DOC RACE delivery.
" So the newest update is this. Doc Race had promised they will have the kits basically done and ready for a test fit by May 1st. Once they are finished they are sending me one kit to test fit to make sure no small changes need to be made, John was very confident in their abilities and assured me the kits would fit perfectly, but a test fit will be done to ensure this. Once the test fit is done, a few small parts still need to be finished, but we are hoping to have all kits shipped by the end of May, middle of June. Please keep in mind this is a promise made to us by Doc Race. I am a little dubious of the time frame as it seems very fast, but they are again confident they will be done, so we are hoping this is the case. This is awesome news for us and everyone waiting! "

I am thinking that is probably the axle seal as the top of the axle seemed to be the shiniest.:

I have chatter in reverse that I think I've mostly overcome with more RPM's and slipping but the chatter from constant stop and go traffic can get annoying, the hotter the clutch gets the harder it is to get a smooth engagement. My engagement point is halfway but have to have the clutch pedal to the floor completely for a 1-2 shift. Personally I think I should have either went with the 2+ or possibly the IS clutch but maybe some more mileage and abuse it will get better.
The tranny noise is not from the clutch itself, but is created by a lighter than stock flywheel. Did you go with SPEC's lighter single mass aluminum fly -- that will cause more noise -- or with the heavier steel fly?

PianoProdigy replied to the thread My "fast car" journey leading up to my ~1000 awhp GTR "build" gunning for 8s and "no" lag.
" Yeah, I saw that testing. Most of the other testing I have seen has shown otherwise, that the comparably sized EFR turbo will perform better in spool and response (particularly on the street) than its Garrett counterpart. It's not a "free" lunch per se since the standard IHI turbine wheel weighs in at 0.135kg. The significantly larger gamma ti EFR turbine wheel only weighs 0.150kg. For reference a Garrett turbine wheel of a similar size weighs 0.255kg making the EFR part over 40% lighter.

On another setup less optimized than mine will be, (no 4" exhaust, no head work, mild cams v. moderate, pump not E85), 1 bar of boost was achieved on the dyno by 2700 RPM. That's equal to or better than the stock turbos. Apparently, the visceral feel of the spool on the street is even more dramatic.

Obviously, it's all just bits of data and lots of speculation at this point, but I am very optimistic. I will be posting Vbox data, timeslips, dynos, etc. Nothing to hide here. "

spool twice replied to the thread This is the 2015 F82 M4 S55 twin turbo inline-6 startup and exhaust note sound.
" sounds awful for an inline 6, but im willing to bet that tinny and insubstantial sound is the result of the placement of high-flow metallic primary cats. Its like the USDM S54; once you remove the primaries and install headers, that buzzy/thin/boring sounding exhaust note turns into a high winding shriek. "
